He has always had great cartoons. He went big time didn't he? I pretty sure they let him go after the owner of the trib died and was left to his deadbeat son that had ties to Andrew Cunanan Everyone knew the reason the Trib was the only newspaper in the country that did not have a word about it even though the whole thing started in San Diego.

Steve is a funny guy, especially if you leaned toward the conservative side. After Helen Copley died and left the UT to her flamer son David, certain things became more apparent. I worked there briefly and still have friends that work there.

He was just about the only thing conservative about that newspaper. My brother in law did a kitchen for David's mansion in La Jolla turned out beautiful something like $30K of mom and dads money. So you were in the Cajon zone huh? My mother was one of the longest subscribers to the Trib circa 1950 until she died this year. James Copely would turn over in his grave to see that it was sold this year.
