    The land of many waters
So I was a dumb ass. I was shooting out in the woods and pulled the bolt on my CTR to try and boresight it since I had it out there along with everything else. Didn’t end up shooting it and got distracted. Put it back in the truck with the bolt still sitting on the side of the truck. Bolt waits to fall off until on the freeway at 70 mph. I think I need a new bolt. It is all scratched and beat up. Beretta says they will not ship out a new bolt even though I told them that I will be putting a prefit barrel on and head spacing it myself. They say that I have to send the whole rifle back in and supposedly their CS is lacking with the tikkas. Are there any aftermarket bolt options out there for the Tikka?
And advice on which route to take?
    Thanks.

BTW, thanks Beretta for having such an asinine policy.

Perhaps the bolt isn't ruined. It's easy to buy all the individual bolt parts from Brownells and others. Scratches could be taken out. Perhaps you might even flute the bolt. Let's hope one of the gunsmiths replies.

That's going to be an expensive lesson learned.
Your best bet is to find a cheap used Tikka to rob the bolt from then sell off the other parts to try and get some of your money back.
Or order a new one from someone like these guys and pay the pauper....

I like the extra rifle and 2 different round ideas. Use a prefit on both, head space set to the bolt, totally interchangeable. Sucks that that had to happen. I've been looking for just a tikka bolt for a while so I could build a short mag without buying another rifle to tear down.

Yeah that would suck... That exact scenario happened to one of my buddies.. Somewhere around St Louis there’s an Impact bolt on the side of the freeway? He was on his way to come shoot a match with me and when he loaded up he left the bolt on his truck bumper??‍♂️ Impact overnighted a bolt to him and he was able to still shoot the match 2 days later.. I guess you get what you pay for- good luck tho

That's great CS. How much did they charge him?

I’m not gonna say, because I honestly don’t remember, pretty sure it wasn’t cheap tho, for sure with overnighting it and all.. but either way he was able to drink a beer, eat a steak with us knowing he would still be shooting his own rifle the following day.. He drove a long way to come visit me, so if he would have been shooting a 700 like me, he would have been screwed, cause I didn’t have any extra match guns lying around for him to use..
