Re: Tikka KRG stock
I just got mine in today!
It fits my shoulder better than I thought it would. The adjustments are well thought out. I really like it. The only complaint I have is that I have to remove the comb before the bolt. This isn't that different than the factory stock though since I had to remove my stock pack every time I took the bolt out.
The fit and finish is exactly what I wanted. The barrel floats well away from the stock, which is a vast improvement over factory. The gun feels much more stable now.
Everything was packaged appropriately for shipping. The small labeled baggies were a nice touch and helped relate items to the instructions. The remington style recoil pad is a vast improvement over the factory bad. The factory pad puts more recoil on my shoulder than my friend's 300WM Sako.
Justin said that he left me a little surprise in my shipment, notice the tin on the top left, since I was trying to get the chassis in time for last weekend's trip to the range. And to my surprise he sent me a bolt lift! And I was just debating weather to buy the one KRG made or beg and plead with Justin to make a whole handle for my gun. Its designed for a Remington but there is plenty of meat that I can hit with the dremel and make a perfect fit before using the included epoxy bedding.
I really like the texturing on the pistol style grip. It really sticks to my hand. The grip is also pretty wide, without being too much so, and has a nice contour to it.
Justin was polite when I talked to him on the phone and patiently answered all of my questions. I would definitely by from him again.
As a matter of fact. Justin please work on the this list I need to finish adding to my Tikka, since you don't have anyone else to ship stocks to right now
Aluminum bolt shroud (I know they are already made, but don't want to ship international. Keep it in the USA)
One piece scope mount (Feel free to through in a NF or USO if you feel like it)
A nicer bipod than the Harris (I know atlas, but I haven't cracked enough to spend that kind of money)
If you make any of the above I'll be first in line to buy it. And if you ever get around to designing a gun from scratch and it turns out as well as this chassis I'll take that too!
I'm very happy with it if you couldn't tell and feel like it was an excellent addition to an already great shooting gun, and worth every penny! It'll be another week before I get to the range, but I'll let ya'll know how it shoots!!
