I've recently come into a pair of T3s. One in 7mm-08 and blued and the other is SS in 338 Federal. Both are of the "Lite" variety.
I have a stainless Kreiger .308 1:10 20" barrel set aside for the SS/338 Federal gun. As this gun is basically NIB, I'm going to try and set it up as a switch barrel. It should be added that the 308 barrel is threaded for a suppressor and will be used in states which allow that sort of thing.
So, the question is, what to do with the 7mm-08. It's significantly used and may or may not still live up to the great Tikka accuracy reputation any more. I have not shot either of these since I am still in the CA mandated 10 day long gun-jail period.
Has anyone built a good XTC rifle out of one of these? I've got a 25" 308 1:10" twist barrel that might go well on the action if it's worth doing. I can't seem to find anyone willing to sell a Tikka Sporter stock--any sub $750 recommendations for an alternative?
