There seems to be new T3 competition rifle with 10 rds mag, 5/8 muzzle thread and picatinny rail. Available in 308 and 260. When this will be available in US?

I just seen this rifle in a Palmetto State Armory store today. I believe the price was 1599.00. The one I looked at was the .308. It's a smooth operating and good looking gun.

I have a Tikka T3 Scout CTR rifle that I bought about 4 years ago. This new CTR looks VERY similar to that one, save for the fact that mine has a different magazine design, and doesn't have a threaded barrel. Otherwise everything looks identical from what I can see. As far as I knew the model I had was discontinued, so I'm guessing this is the next version... it looks nice to me! Mine shoots like a laser, and I won't sell it.

Any idea what they'll charge for these? I sure hope it isn't the $1,600 listed above (I agree that that price might have been for the "tactical" model)... Mine was $820 at Sportsman's Warehouse when I bought it, and the changes to the rifle surely don't justify more than $100 worth of price increase. But, if I could find one chambered in .260 for close to the price I paid originally for my .308 Win, I might pick it up.

If it has one trg mag that will add 185.00, plus threaded barrel( US size) 50.00, plus special bottom metal 200.00. T3 sporters are 1400, they have the standard 5 rd mag but have a better stock then this new model. My sporter in 260 had a long throat. I used LA tikka mags so i could get 142 smk near the lands, those rds would not fit in an ai mag. Whats the oal allowed in trg mags?

This looks promising. I did not see this rifle at SHOT. With the standard thread pitch on the muzzle, hopefully this is slated for the U.S. I also hope that the barrel on the .260 is at least 24".

Until recently, the Sporter was more than the Tactical. For this model, I would have expected to see a price tag more in the $800-$1000 range. Hard to say the difference between real price and suggested retail, though.

This is true...wish I had been aware it existed a couple years ago...but I'm hoping the CTR's price point is lower than the T3 Sporter.

One thing that makes me hopeful for US import is the thread pitch which is 5/8-24, not European 18x1. If this is priced close to the older CTR's it will be a far superior option to a Rem 700 5R. Especially if/when AI starts importing their Tikka Chassis!

I did not see this at the show either but if comes in under 900 it will be a great option. I gave them an earful about the lack of Varmint/Scouts in the US but they blamed Beretta, they didn't mention this new one even.

Anyone ask beretta if they are importing this model?

A lot of people are kind of baffled by Beretta's lack of response to what the market wants as far as these Tikka's go. I got one of the Scouts on clearance last year when they stopped being imported and it shoots like a custom build in the factory stock. Really excited to get it in one of those x-rays Massoud!

Captramrod, I have an email in to Beretta but they are traditionally very hard to deal with and not very responsive. I did notice at shot they have a Tikka in their own Chassis so maybe they don't want to undercut it with this one?

My bad, it's actually a Sako. Got my wires crossed being made in the same factory. Their Chassis on the first Sako is very similar looking to your W3 (or that may be the TRG with your buttstock?) .

Start the vid at 2:30. Both guys are kinda dry, but it will get you a look.

There is a Tikka Tactical on the bottom of the rack with the Sakos, you can tell it's not the new CTR because it has the adjustable plastic cheek-rest.

Yea, that's the SAKO M-NeverGonnaHappenForYou. Good looking chassis though, although appears to be AI-heavy if not more so. That monopod is slick.

It would make too much sense for Beretta to import something that would sell well to an enthusiast crowd. I've found they like to spend more time an energy with products that appeal to the less-knowledgeable buyer.

I hope it's good news, but I'm not holding my breath. I talked to a Beretta rep a couple years ago about the popularity of the Tikka rifles and suggested that they should consider bringing in more. He gave me the impression that, if I wasn't going to ask about an M9 or one of their overpriced shotguns, that I was just wasting his time.

My rep says it is a no go for the US right now. My suggestion is to email beretta and let them know what you want. Maybe if enough people smack them upside the head they will get it right.

Not surprising. Considering you can re barrel a T3 and out it in a XRay for not much more I'm not that put out. Would have been a nice option though. I like my older CTR in .223 a lot.

My dealings with Beretta have been more than frustrating with trying to get a heavier barrel for my tikka t3 lite. I don't understand why they don't support tikka here in the US.

Talked to Sako Rep at the NRA convention......he said these were for the American market. That's why they are treaded 5/8-24. And that they will retail for $1050. We'll see what they really go for.......

I have such a hard time getting excited about this now, using CTR mags. I think I might be better off looking for a 308 T3 and an Xray chassis. Although remaining optimistic about the pricing.

To be clear, I'm sure there is nothing actually wrong with TRG mags... Except the rarity and cost of course!

Hey fellas this is promising. $948 on Eurooptic, then you can get 150 or more maybe for the mag, taking your cost down to 800. After you drop it into a chassis you'll be doing well. It's not as cost effective as the Remington heavy barrel options but it has other advantages.

2700+ with 140s is reasonably achievable with a 20" 260.

My biggest issue with the Tikka's has been the long throats and short mags. If they want to give long throats, they should give mags that will fit those lenght cartridges. Maybe the'll get things right on these.

I can seat bullets further out in my Tikka .308 than my brother in law could in his internal mag on his Remington LTR in .308. I know this because I would help him load and would always have to seat his bullets further down to allow them to fit in the internal magazine. My Tikka also just plain shoots, I am not concerned about where I can seat the bullets. The newer mag system on the CTR my allow you to seat the bullets out further too.

I wish the .260 had a little longer barrel than the 20" they are offering.
