Just ordered a PSE Composite Stock for my Tikka T3 Varmint 6.5x55SE. Can not wait to get it and get it set up. Currently have a Sako Picatiny Rail installed, Warne QD mounts.

Looking to try and get a Bolt Handle and Perhaps new bottom metal, but could be tricky given the calibre!

Re: Tikka T3 Project

Neely,

If I'm not mistaken, going to the 6.5x55 put's you outside the COAL of the AICS .308 mags (or even the Alpha's). Contact Jeff @ CDI. I use his DBM in my Tikka .260. I also have a Tikka 300WM. He's been promising me a LA DBM for the Tikka T3's now for almost 2 years and I think the thing that's holding him back is perceived market.

Re: Tikka T3 Project

For 6,5x55 the current only solution that I know of is the orignal magazines. Alutek.eu are manufacturing new bottommetal for orignalmags as well and they are very well made.
They are also making a metal bolt schroud and working on a 6,5x55 10 round centerfeed mag for T3 and other rifles.
(will work with 30-06 type cartridges to)

I find the combination of a T3, 6,5x55 to be extremely appealing and here is a few pics of my own project.
Special TRG chassis, my own mount without any unnecesarry picatinny.

Re: Tikka T3 Project

I didn't know the t3 action would fit to the TRG stock. I'd like to get one. Do you recall the cost? I take it this would be a direct order from the manufacturer.

Re: Tikka T3 Project

I doesent.............
I hade to make a special alublock to make it fit.......
But that was the only solution that I could see when I wanted a TRG in 6,5x55.........

Re: Tikka T3 Project

We highly recommend the Barnard 2 stage trigger for the T3's. We haven't used the Jard yet. The Barnard is position adjustable and has all the other adjustments of course and is just a really nice feeling trigger. It has no safety which may or may not be a factor for you. MTgun sells them.

Re: Tikka T3 Project

I have also a T3 Varmint in 6.5x55. Why would you put a picatinny on a T3, if you don´t mind me asking..? And I would be all over that KRG W3 if they had it for the 6.5x55...

Re: Tikka T3 Project

firstly i have two T3's and i interchange the scope on them ..... as i have Target Turrets it makes it easy to do so, secondly it makes storage and transportation of the rifle easier, thirdly allows me to use other optics on it and well i guess lastly it looks awesome! :p

I must look into this Barnard Trigger ...... How much ?
