just got this ,a Tikka Scout in 308.
ive had it to the range twice now and its looks like i made a good choice.
for optics i mounted a burris 4.5x-14x i had laying around.
all groups shot were off a bipod with rear bag.
ammo were hand loads i had for my dpms lr-308.
these were loaded with redding competition dies.
brass was either lapua or winchester with cci br-2 primers.
powder used was imr8208xbr,imr4064 and varget.
my first outing i fired off 35 rounds it was late,raining and windy.groups at 200yd were 1" too 1.8"
i managed to get 1 group at 600 yd that was 6.75"
ok but i could do better.
well here is todays results
all groups are 5 shots
it was 46 degrees and rianing heavy
first up are some 155.5 burgers,this was the first time i shoot these 1.3" at 200yd
next are some 175mk these came in under 1"
the best of the day were the 168mk .835"
i shot 3 other groups at 200yd that went from .98 too 1.25"
but the paper was too wet to save.these were with the 168s and 175s
now at 600yd
the first of the day was the best i hit low but the group was good these were the 168mk 4.0"
with the scope adjusted i did one more with the 168s 4.45"
i did one group with the 175s it did about the same 4.5" but the target did not survive the rain.
the 155.5 burgers did not do as good about 7"
i will be going back to the range next week to try and dail a good load in for 600yd. if i do better i will post an update
