Re: tikka t3 tactical aftermarket upgrade thread
Thanks for the kind words guys.
Mam suffers with heart problems and Alzheimers, Dad cares for her. But Dad got the news a few weeks back, maybe 3 months, if he is lucky max 12 months. Cancer of the oesofagus. In his own words, " I'm knackered Pete, I wish i had another 10 years, but it don't look likely" He's taken it on the chin like the old soldier he is, but of course his worry if for Mam. Trying and worrying times indeed.
Anyhow, back to Tikka's.
I had the opertunity to work over a very early Tikka lately, (forget which model but pre 595) I was pleased to see the quality of workmanship in the action and it was a pleasure to give a new lease of life to the old girl. I also mounted a scope for a customer on a 20" T3 tacical just lately. Right out of the box with nothing more than a trigger adjustment it shot ragged holes with fachory ammo.
Put any of these varmint type barreled T3's in a decent stock, Either our RCS, Tom's T4 or the Robertson and i'm convinced that 90% of the time you have a genuine 1/2 MOA rifle.
Thy are among the better made factory rifles, and that statement stands even when you consider rifles twice the price.
I'm sure if Tikka actualy offered a model with a decent stock it would be popular, it might however be to the detriment of the Sako TRG sales.
regards Pete
