Tikka t3x ctr or build?

Wanting to get a bolt action and drop it into a manners prs1 stock, cant decide if i want to grab a tikka t3x or get something like a bighorn origin action or barreled action.

what does the hide have to say? should i just get the tikka and ditch the stock or should i start with a origin or similar action?

I would build personally but the Tikka is a very solid option.
Choosing something with a Rem 700 footprint action the possibilities are all most endless for stocks and triggers.
There is a member selling a new Kelblys Atlas Tactical with a new 6.5x47 barrel for $1350 last time I looked that would be a great choice to build on.
You should give it a serious look before I end up with another one before I've finished the one I'm working on now. ?

I've done some number crunching because I've been looking into the same options:

Option 1:
Tikka CTR 24 in (eurooptic) + manners PRS1TK (core shooting)
~9.3 lb, $2348 before taxes and possible discounts and shipping
20 in CTR: same cost, 0.5 lb lighter

Option 2:
Big horn origin, Proof sendero 22 in 6.5 CM Savage prefit, Tiggertech special, manners PRS1 with mini chassis (core shooting), Barloc with barrel nut
~8.3 lb, $3239 before taxes and discounts and shipping

Option 3:
Prefit non-Proof barrel: ~$200 to $300 cheaper, 0.5 to 1 lb heavier compared to option 2

Option 4:
Bartlein barrel blank, gun smith barrel job ($250) and muzzle threading ($80 + $50 for protector): ~9 lb, $3k

I went through the same dilemma and went with the origin. No reason really other then I wanted to build it as I want from the beginning

I went with a Ctr. It’s supposed to be be at ffl tomorrow.

I have a Mpa with the weight system on it. I wanted lighter weight for deer season so picked up a manners and going to order a leupold mark 5 or nightforce 4-16 this week to have it ready for opening weekend.

This will be my first manners stock. Excited to get the rifle together this week and get it sighted in for this weekend.

I went with a CTR. Very happy with my decision and results from the rifle.

I had one built on a Remington action that I already had but if I had to do it over again, I’d probably go with the Tikka CTR or possibly one of their varmint versions and swap the stock/bottom metal for what I want.

Why not find a cheap used t3x rebarrel and put it in a stock
