Gunsmithing Tikka T3x CTR SS 20" 6.5CM - Stock Base Issues?

Any known issues with the stock scope base not being square or other known issues?

Mounting:
-Vortex Viper PST II 5-25x50mm EBR 7C MRAD
-Vortex Matched Rings

Plan was to swap for Nightforce X Treme Duty base but they do not make one for the Tikka T3x CTR. Looking at EWG. But, looks like a small nightmare removing the base that comes stock on the rifle. If no known issues I would like to avoid changing the base.

Having read the entire Tikka t3 thread under the bolt gun section I haven't seen any complaints about zeroing. I believe they also have registering pins.

Removing it isn't that hard. Soldering iron to the screws and maybe a clothes iron or propane torch til it comes off. Scrape with a razor to remove excess residue. Or acetone to remove residue. Don't remember.

Also keep in mind any t3x rail will work with the ctr. The weird one is taca1 because of the front hand guard (has to be taller). Also look into mountain tactical and Murphy precision for rails if you want to change it out.

Just bought a Murphy tactical 20 minute in titanium bead blasted (just cause i could). Very nice.

I swapped the base on my CTR. I heated up the screws with a heat gun to soften whatever it is they used to lock them in place.

I replaced it with a mountain tactical 20MOA rail.

I swapped the stock base for the Area 419 base. It fit like a glove. Everyone seems to be happy with the Mountain Tactical base, also.

My guess would be to get some taper, the stock one is 0 MOA.
