I went to the LGS to purchase the Bergara LRP today but wanted to take one last look at the Tikka. After handling the Tikka I decided to hold off on the LRP and maybe purchase this instead. The problem I'm having is that I want to go with the Vortex Razor Gen II 4.5-27x56 and it looks like with the 0 MOA rail and the picatinny rail the scope mount in going to be pretty tall. Does anyone have any pictures of this particular setup or give me an idea of what to expect. I don't want to buy any of this stuff twice so i thought I'd ask before spending the money. I've seen a few people mention a 1.5" mount but I'm not sure how that would affect overall head position or comfort.

Tikka TAC A1 scope mounting

Pics with a USO B17 and a Razor AMG. Both using a 1.57” ARC M10 Unimount. Started with the B17 but have switched to the AMG.
Both mounts are 30 MOA mounts.
I’m still testing the waters with it. Bought the AMG at first to use for a hunting scope on another rifle but found the reticle to be a bit to thin at 6x for my preference. Playing around with the illumination seems to help. Going to test it out more rigorously on the Tikka and see if I get used to it enough to put it back on the other rifle or see if it would be a better fit on this gun.

I could possibly get away with the 1.3875", but would have an issue with the Vortex flip cap. I have a 56mm scope with sun shade and a flip cap on the OEM rail. I opted to not go with a mount, but am awaiting delivery of a custom made 20MOA rail from a machine shop. Good luck.

With a 12 O'clock rail and 56mm objective you can get away with 1.375" tall rings/mount with 0 MOA cant. So basically anything 1.4-1.5" tall will definitely work if you're adding cant to the mount. All guns with a 12 O'clock rail will have a high height over bore, there is nothing you can do about it other than adjust the cheek piece.
Here's my Tikka Tac A1 and some load development that I did. I ended up going with 140gr ELD Match / 42.5gr H4350 / CCI BR2 as my load because it had the lowest standard deviation.
This rifle has been an absolute pleasure to have the last couple of years. I'm at 650 rounds down the barrel and just did my first PRS match with it a few weeks ago. Thankfully there was no wind so I was able to get headshots on IPSC targets on command. It's currently sporting a Vortex Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27x in a JP Enterprises 0 MOA mount. I may opt for the Nightforce 20 MOA mount eventually, but for now it's plenty. I swapped out the brake and put on an APA Little Bastard Gen II. At this point, I can spot my impacts from almost all shotting positions as long as I'm not being a magnification whore :X (not shown in photo)
Also - Installed a Yo Dave trigger spring as Frank recommended in his video. AMAZING upgrade for $10. The trigger went from good to great with that upgrade as it smooths out the first stage and allows you to get the pull weight to under 1lb if you desire. I left mine at 2lbs, but it's a super great feeling trigger.

Spuhr 4602. It will just clear the Picatinny rail w/ the larger 56mm objective. It's a 20 MOA. I don't think even a 0 MOA will clear with that 56mm objective w/o a 1.5" rise. Height is not really a problem.

In the unlikely event that the OP is still looking for a photo of a Vortex Razor Gen II 4.5-27x56 mounted on a Tac A1, here's mine with AADMOUNT caps. With a Spuhr SP-4603B mount (1.496" high, 20.6MOA rake), the objective cap clears the rail by 0.0750" -- six playing cards (0.0690") will fit in the gap, seven playing cards (0.0805") won't.

Could you tell me why you have chosen for the Spuhr SP-4603B mount, and not for the Spuhr SP-4602 mount?
In addition, would you please be able to tell me the total dimensions of the Tikka with the Vortex Razor Scope (LxWxH) (especially the height, since I am wondering if this rifle with this scope would fit in a NcSTAR VISM Rifle case/Shooting mat)?
And last but not least, is it possible to post some nice pictures of this wonderful set up?

The 4602 and the 4603B have the same height and rake, but the 4603B has more distance between the rings. Both will fit the Razor HD Gen2 4.5-27x56.
In an SP-4602, the scope has 0.3 inches of fore-and-aft adjustment before its turret housing hits the inner edge of one of the rings, and in an SP-4603B it also has 0.3 inches of adjustment (the limiting factor in that case is the outer edge of one of the rings hitting the objective or ocular bell).
Since both mounts provide the same amount of adjustability, and I'm obviously not trying to save every gram possible, I chose the longer SP-4603B mount on general principles, because its wider stance should support the scope more solidly. Honestly, though, it probably makes no actual difference, and the SP-4602 might be a better choice if you think that you'll change your scope in the future, because that mount will fit more other scopes than the SP-4603B.
L: 46" (with maxed-out LOP and a Little Bastard brake)
W: 4" (across the scope windage/parallax knobs)
H: 11" (base of my MPA EVG grip to the top of the elevation turret -- I think the factory Tikka grip is slightly shorter)
By the way, you may want to examine that NcSTAR case closely before entrusting your 18-pound, $4000 rifle+scope package to it. I looked at cheap cases, too, but after comparing them to some of the more expensive American-made cases, I decided that that wasn't the place to economize.
I haven't tried, but it should fit. Without the shade there is 0.075" of clearance. The shade adds 4" to the length of the scope, so at 20.6 MOA it will use 0.024", leaving 0.051" of clearance.
Update: The sunshade fits. As predicted, the AADMOUNT cap clears the rail by about 50 thousandths of an inch.

I'd appreciate specific product recommendations as well as answers to my questions.
1. 0 MOA vs. 20 MOA? If 20 MOA, best way to do that? (This is possibly answered in next question?)
2. Rings vs. a full mount (like the Spuhr SP4602/ 4603)?

Spuhr 4602. 20 MOA. Spuhr includes level but would add one to the scope or pic rail too. I actually prefer rings, for aesthetics only really, but you need to address the 0 MOA rail which is difficult to change and match the OEM rail.

Thanks for the input. I am in agreement with you, if I can get it and I (will probably) need the 20 MOA, why not do it up front. part of my question was to get the 20 MOA, can I do it with rings or is it better with a full mount. I think you answered that.

For my Tac A1 In 6.5 Creed I went with a Spuhr 4902 which is 30 MOA to give me enough elevation to reach out to a Mile and I still have no problem zeroing at 100m. I would rather have the extra elevation available in the scope and not need it rather then finding a spot to reach out and not being able to with the setup.
I also run a bubble level on the scope as I find it easier to look at while I’m shooting even though there is one on the Spuhr.
