I'm getting timeouts and lags galore since the upgrade. The shoutbox as well "Sending..." and never sends my message. I verified with a few others today. They are getting the same slowness.

Re: Time out errors

LL,

It was definitely the two hours prior to my post. There were quite a few folks in the Shoutbox as well. McCrazy and DebosDave reported slowness as well as some time out errors during this time. While others did not.

Also this morning. Second post I tried to view at 4:50AM CDT timed out. Again at 5:16AM CDT. No one was on the shoutbox at these times.

I'm using Firefox 3.0.12.

Re: Time out errors

they found the trouble its a Memory issue and they are replacing the firmware and the memory chips... the load of the site causes these specific memory chips to fault under heavy load so they are replacing them.

They figure late Friday Night. Part of what you are seeing is them testing it and causing the faults, but they found it and are replacing the hardware to something more suitable per the site's load.

I would have been forced to either cut down on the size of my posts or never re-visit the Hot Girlfriends thread.

Re: Time out errors

I cant get the shout box to populate. It came up once and when I clicked on the next page, it went back off again.

Just an FYI Frank.

On second thought, this might have been on purpose....

Re: Time out errors

I have no clue why, it is working 100% for me and a few others, so I am not sure what would be effecting that, other than the server issue that won't be repaired until tomorrow.

I will drop them a note incase.

One thing, I know Firefox just did an update and I am having issues all over the web with it, even on You Tube I can start a video but not stop it the browser doesn't work. So it could be an update thing on their side. But I can't rule out the server error until after they fix it.

I too am having the same problem with the SB...

Edit: Not anymore....

LL, which version of FF? I was in the box the other night when you asked about the lag, and at that POINT I had not seen anything readily apparent.

Re: Time out errors

What browser are you using, Your WTF tells me absolutely nothing at all and is a waste of my time to be honest.

if you want a solution I have to know what the problem is...

as an FYI, UBB has identified a problem with IE that creates a conflict between the shout box when the AJAX used is requested more than once at the same time.

So, its an incapability with IE, you have to change browsers.

Re: Time out errors

Sorry! Didnt mean to waste time. I was on the way out to the gym when it happened.

Ditto to EHG. It will just go blank in IE.

I downloaded the Firefox and its gtg.

Re: Time out errors

I have had problems with time out errors and really slow to load especially the last twelve hours. At 2245 central time it would not load at all with either fire fox or internet explorer. Finally came back on line at approx. 2250. This morning from 0700 on has been hit or miss. No change if I have the right side on or off operates the same. Just a heads up LowLight.

Re: Time out errors

Last night they changed out the network switch so they were working on the network.

I knew about that outage, they had emailed me just before.

But if you are still having issues, I need to tell them.

Are you sure its not a lag from the ads on the left because I find that is the culprit of most slow loads. Those ads don't keep up.

Re: Time out errors

I would have to agree on the ads slowing the refresh/load speed down. However as I was trying to respond to your post I just got two consecutive server time outs. From my end there seems to be no rhyme or reason to when it occurs.

Forum Errors and Issues

Okay, I think we have everything figured out. We changed the left hand ad column to be more loading friendly to the forum. This should solve any time out errors anyone is having within the forum.

if you get a time out error, immediately go to the main page, snipershide.com and see how that loads. This way I can decide if the changes are indeed 100%.

ATTENTION *Internet Explorer Users*

If you are using Internet Explorer, there appears to be a conflict with their newest version and the Shout Box. It loads the site fine but the Shout Box is blank. For some this is no big deal, for others who want to use the shout box, I recommend switching to Firefox. It's free, its easy to use and its much better than IE hands down.

you can download it for free at www.mozilla.com

Right now everything seems to be working 100%, we'll give a few days to put a load on the new changes and see, if you experience an issue, I need as much details as possible, just saying you have an issue doesn't help me solve it.

Thanks,

Re: Forum Errors and Issues

First time today after many tries sense 7:00am central, that I've been able to load an active topic. I can click on the forum page but when I click on an active topic or in a forum it times out. Then if I try to get back to the main page from thge links in my favorites it says cant find page.

Re: Forum Errors and Issues

You may need to update your links, as some things have changed slightly. Its probably trying to resolve the old site and then getting transferred to what it has for the new site.

As well, it seems the error issues with Internet Explorer are a lot more indepth than just the few mentioned. I don't know if its their default settings or what but IE does not work well at all with UBB.
