Timing a Surefire Mount

Re: Timing a Surefire Mount

I mounted one once on a friends AR, it was a PITA, they come with a chart and a bunch of colored shims you need to use for timing it perectly, it took a while but got it on right.

Re: Timing a Surefire Mount

I just did mine two nights ago. Took 10-15 minutes the hardest part is breaking free the old flash hider.

Mine didn't come with the timing wheel so I just paused the video when it showed it and used that.

Re: Timing a Surefire Mount

All you are really "timing" is the adapter so that the suppressor's 'top' in at 12 oclock. Does not have to be dead nuts on center, just good enough so that it doesnt bother you.

Re: Timing a Surefire Mount

I have did three of my own and the third was the worse one for some reason. On the third one I had to clean off the rockset once or twice but after that it's fine. Not that big of a deal and I would never take it smith for that unless you don't have a wrench or block/vice. Give it a go.
