So I have a timney trigger on one of my AR's. Nice trigger has a smooth pull but it fires a round when I let off of it. Pull the trigger it fires let loose it fires again I have held the trigger back for a few seconds before letting loose and still I get a misfire when letting loose.

Is this common? Can I fix it? The trigger has not seen much use

Yep. Take that thing out and call Em up. They'll fix it. Don't mess with it yourself and definitely don't continue shooting it since you know it's capable of firing more than 1 round with one trigger pull

I put it in a year ago had no problems it sat in the safe for 8 months I took it out and the problem started on the second mag.. ill get ahold of them I just did not know if some how the adjustment needed to be messed with

Call them and send it back. I had one that would fire 3-5 round bursts every time I pulled the trigger. Sent it back and they sent me a new one. Should have kept it. It was kinda fun.

There really aren't any "adjustments" per se on the Timney...no sear engagement or other adjustments you as the user can make to "fix" the sort of problem you are experiencing. The one thing you can check, and they still shouldn't allow the problem you are having to occur, is to see that both of the tension screws (on both sides of the trigger as you look down at it in the lower with the hammer dropped) are tightened down/secure.

I'll just second, third, whatever the idea of contacting Timney and having them repair/replace your trigger as needed. Not worth @#$%ing with it...let them handle it and ensure that they provide you with a safe, reliable trigger at the end of the day!
