Rifle Scopes TMR install on Gold Ring Spotter?

Re: TMR install on Gold Ring Spotter?

You can try to call Leupold customer service, BUT I am pretty positive that they cannot retrofit a reticle in a HD spotter. There is a difference in the erector system that will not allow for this modification. It is one to the reasons that the Mark IV spotter is so much more expensive.

Re: TMR install on Gold Ring Spotter?

I sent Leupold customer service an email the other day, just waiting on a response. I will update as soon as I get information.

No problem, after all I'm just as intereted as you. Hopefully we'll hear something back from them tomorrow, they're usually quick to reply.

Re: TMR install on Gold Ring Spotter?

I don't know how much it is, but I do know it's possible because I have one. Gold Ring spotter (non HD) with FFP TMR, bought it from a guy on LongRangeHunting. Works like a champ and I'm very happy with it.

Re: TMR install on Gold Ring Spotter?

Ahh you beat me! I think thats a very reasonable price. I also (obviously) like the fact that its FFP.

I was planning on gettin a Premier Heritage with the Gen II XR reticle, but if leupold could install a H37 in the spotting scope I might have to spend the extra and have the same Horus in both optics.

Thanks for gettin that information platapus. Hows the Montana weather treating ya?

The weathers been pretty decent here lately and greening up. The PDs are out and calling my name, LOL. i work in ND and come home every other week. The weather there is a little behind us. We had a storm blow though last weekend and was without power for 72 hrs. That wasn't much fun. I will also be sending off the spotter for this upgrade after my build is completed.

Take care,

Are you sure they'll install a Horus reticle (vs the TMR) for $399? I've always heard the Horus reticles were $400 minimum for just the reticle. Installation extra.

Re: TMR install on Gold Ring Spotter?

I asked a couple of months back. This is what i got:

If you have the Gold Ring 12-40x60mm HD spotting scope, then yes, you can have a TMR or Mil-Dot installed into your scope.

The TMR is $399.99 and the Mil-Dot is $349.99 plus applicable sales tax.

Yeah I ment spend the extra because of the Horus premium to use their reticle. And I'm not sure if they can, they still have yet to return my email. In my email I asked what reticles were available. If its possible, and depending on the price, I just might do it. Maybe...

I just moved from Great Falls in September, I had good times shootin at the pds. I miss Montana a lot, even though Great Falls was not my favorite. I know what you mean about the power outages. I think it was last year I spent around 6 days without power. Thats a downfall about living 20 miles from the town out on a nice country road. I miss being able to walk out my back door and shoot 600+ meters.
