A local LEO asked me to install a mini split that he purchased online. He agreed to the price and I installed it. During the time of install he was pretty talkative about hunting and other things. Then some of his friends from work stopped by and suddenly I was a lepper. No big deal cuz I have witnessed it plenty of other times. I completed the install and explained how to operate it. He paid for the install and I gave him a receipt that had the warranty on any installation defects clearly written on it. Two months later he called and said that it wasn't working so I went and checked it. I downloaded the failure codes and told him that he would have to get with the dealer to get the parts. I then handed him an invoice for the service call. Wholly fuck you would have thought that I just fucked his wife and wiped my dick on his curtains. I scrolled back in my invoice book and showed him the copy of the warranty on my work and explained that failed parts are not covered and you signed it. That's when the next level of temper tantrum arrived and I smiled and told him that if he had purchased it from me that I would have taken care of any warranty for parts and service. If you want me to deal with the dealing with getting the parts it's at an $80 per hour rate. I'll do you a favor and install them when they come in at the same rate. He paid for the service call and I left. I heard later that he conned another service tech into replacing the parts for him.
