I've had two of the NXS 5.5-22x50 NP-R2's and currently have the NXS 5.5-22x50mm with the NP-R1 and I love it.

I've been teetering on the edge for a while. I've passed on 2 deals now. ABSOLUTELY KICKING myself for not taking the last one. Ready to say F it and just go for it.

Depends on what you are shooting with it and how you plan to use it. It is a SFP scope so the ranging feature only works at one magnification or you have to remember a lot of different subtensions.

+1 for Europtic's excellent service. This will be the best and worst purchase you ever made. Best for your rifle worst for your wallet. These things are like potato chips you can't have just one.

Well, I received the scope today.. I was a little perplexed when I flipped it over while inspecting it and saw "MADE IN JAPAN" on the underside. I actually called Nightforce to make sure it was legit. I have to say that this thing is built like a tank!

The NXS F1 is made in America whereas the other NXS line is made in Japan

What I've gathered so far is that these use High Quality parts made in Japan but then assembled here in the States. You got to remember those countries have some advanced technology that the US does not.

Don't be. It's made with the same quality as the F1 and backed by the same warranty.

they are assembled in the U.S. because there is not a U.S. lens glass manufacture, that glass has to come from somewhere, there are firms in China, Austria, Germany and Japan. Nightforce uses the Japanese glass, it accounts for 60% of the products components, so it has to be marked made in Japan.

I bought a Toyota and when I got it home discovered it was built in Indiana! :)

Seriously though, although Japan was going to take over the business world back in the 80s...remember how they held all the cards back then?...they at least respect intellectual property rights and don't manipulate the hell out of their currency. So what's the big deal?

I just bought a NF NXS 5.5-22x56 Mil/Mil MLR recticle. I compared it side by side with the S&B PMII 5-25x56 and a Premier Heritage, those things are in a whole other class and price range! I loved the Premier, liked it better than the S&B.

What rig are you putting it on?

Every time I start to purchase a scope with magnification above about 25x everyone starts to tell me I'm 'putting too much scope' on the gun. So I've never had the balls to say screw them and do it anyway.

So I was just curious what 32x of magnification is going on.

Japanese stuff is great, they have to put the name of the biggest part maker... ie scope tubes on nsx were made in Japan, scope tubes on the F1 nsx nightforce made in USA

In my mind the Nightforce is better than Leupold, etc but may not be the quality of S and B or Primier. For me they are a good deal because the price is only marginally more than the top end Leupold but the quality is pretty close to scopes that are 1000+ more. My only issue is I wish they offered some reticle choices with greater line thickness

It's the number of parts issue that gets it the MIJ engraving, versus US. The factory in Japan makes parts for many other scope makers as well.

They're all assembled in the US.

Congrats...I have two and will get another when I get my GAP-10...

The quality is great and love the features. Lots of compliments on the glass once people look through and compare to what they have been using...JaxOps

Just forget about where it was born! They dont make ANY junk!
Just sold my 8x32 nxs last week. Nightforce scopes are built like damn tanks. Would still have it but I bought a Premier 5x25x56 and had WAY to many big scopes on the bench. I let go of my 8x32 to keep the better half from goin nuts over $9000 worth of glass on the bench at one time.Dont worry you will love this scope.
