A local is selling his Swarovski BTX 85 with the binocular eyepiece. Is it 3D cub material? How do you get perspective view out of a single objective lens? How big a difference is there between the btx 85 and the btx 95? In before 10mm ;-)

Stunning optics, easy to glass for a long time without as much fatigue. You don't get the 3D effect of binos, but you do get a much clearer more natural viewing experience with both eyes.

I'd have to double check, but I believe the specs are that the 85mm gives 30x magnification and the 95mm gives 35x magnification with a narrower FOV.

Swarovski STR 80 for the scope. I’m still shopping for a lighter weight tripod, but my existing tripod for the range is a manfrotto with a ball head. Very steady unless wind is really bad, but weighs 6.3 lbs.

Leaning toward a slik or outdoorsmans Tripp’s to cut down 3 pounds from my pack weight.
