Mine has proven not suitable for installing a stock to my barreled action and has overtightened and stripped the screws.

What torque wrench do you recommend for the future? I'd prefer not to spend a whole heck of a lot on it, but I'm quickly learning that quality jobs require significant investments.

Re: Torque Wrench

Did you use a foot lb torque wrench instead of an inch lb torque wrench? If so I don't think it is the wrenches fault.

We had the snap on guy at work last week. He had some testing equipment for torque wrenches. I tested my 2 pittsburg wrenches from harbour freight. They were both well within their accuracy garuntee.

Borka tool is the way to go.

Shortly after posting this I found that indeed this was the issue. Not the wrench, my own stupid mistake. Found new screws and washers though, so now I just need a good in/lb torque screwdriver/wrench.

Considering borka or wheeler FAT atm

You're damned right it won't. One of a couple careless mistakes I've made lately that will never happen again.

It is nice to know I'm not the only one though haha
