I had my factory trigger worked on but it still has a small amount of creep in it so I have been looking at the Timney and the Rifle Basix for a hunting trigger. Installation will be done by a gunsmith. I noticed the Rifle Basix can be tuned to a light weight. Which is the best trigger?

The kits name is YoDave. I installed one in my CZ and love it.

Re: Trigger for a CZ 452

In the CZ/Brono section of rimfire central there is a thread stickied entitled Sophie's FAQ or something similar. It has links to several trigger modification threads for the CZ 452(I can't access it from work or I would provide a direct link).

The rifle Basix trigger is an excellent option; though a bit pricey relative to the alternatives.

The Yo Dave kit and PMTJ (Poor Man's Trigger Job) both require you to punch out the roll pins. The modified PMTJ is the simplest and only requires two sets of cheap feeler gauges.

I did the MPMTJ on my CZ recently. I spent $8 on the feeler gauges and went from a lot of creep and 4.5-5lbs trigger to zero creep and ~2lbs trigger..

I did this kit and was lucky enough to use it for two CZ's. They both are great! At least try this before you spend $100 on a trigger. i couldn't be happier with mine.

Re: Trigger for a CZ 452

I had some borrowed YoDave kit parts in mine for a while and it worked great. I now have the adjustable sear from DIP in it and I am a happy camper. I had to wait for it to get off backorder before I could get it, hence the temp YoDave.

Re: Trigger for a CZ 452

I put the Yodave kit in my UltraLux. There is absolutely no way you could improve on the trigger. I have not weighed it, but I believe it breaks at approximately 6-8 ounces with no take up. This is with the largest spacer/lightest spring, so I could make it heavier if I wanted to. Couldn't be happier.

Re: Trigger for a CZ 452

I have an older Timeny in the 452 I just got, and wish it had a factory with the YoDave kit. The old Timney functions and feels great, but I had to hack the crap out of my Hooper trigger gusrd for it to clear, and I'm not sure I'm done fitting yet....

If you need me to mill it for you, send it in and I will cut it. The melonite treatment will make it hard to cut on. It is a great finish but if you have to cut on it, you need carbide.

Thanks Hoop'! Once I get my Manners T4 I'll send it in if it doesn't clear. I apprecaiate it!

Re: Trigger for a CZ 452

Thanks for the replies. I ended up going with the Rifle Basix. The reason behind doing so was I thought I was going to have to have a gunsmith for the install and I wanted to get it right this time. I had the factory trigger worked on and it was much better but it still had some creep to it. My thinking was if I just go buy a whole new trigger I know my problem will be taken care of. I ended up doing the install myself and I and happy but I may have to make a few more tweaks to get it exactly like I want it. I had to go heaver on the poundage because when I slammed the bolt it would fire but less than a pound for hunting is probably to light anyway.

especially when the overtravel releases the bolt....

Re: Trigger for a CZ 452

YODAVE Update !
Just put this kit in my rifle ...trigger breaks crisp with ZERO Creep or Travel..bushings take out all of the unwanted movement and its a snap to install...for the cost of less than 20clams I would highly recommend it to anyone to try before replacing your complete trigger assy.
I used the RED bushing with the Lightest Tension spring at first but this is way too light of setting for anything other than target use and unsafe for practical hunting..
I put in the next stiffer spring and ran the adjusting nut up some to a "comfortable" pull setting...
Best thing since sliced bacon...try it !
