Forgive me for asking this but I'm in the middle of my new F class build and got a heck of a deal on a Kepplinger single set trigger. Would this be legal for F class shooting? I can't seem to find anything definitive regarding this type of set up on a gun.

Thank you for all your help guys. I have really enjoyed reading this sub-forum in my preparation for starting to shoot F class in the spring with my new rifle.

Sincerely,
Joe Chambers

Re: Trigger options...

I have Jewell triggers on both my F Class rifles set to about 1#. It's important to adjust the overtravel to give the trigger a bit of movement after the shot breaks. After trying other triggers, these work best for me.

Yes, that was my understanding but this rifle will be for open class. I put it on and got the non set weight at right at 1.5lbs and the set weight at 6oz...very nice...if it's legal...which I still don't know about.

Re: Trigger options...

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the prohibition is in the NRA highpower rules that also govern F class.

Edit: maybe I'm wrong here. From the rules, <span style="font-style: italic"> "Any safe, manually operated trigger is permitted"</span>

Re: Trigger options...

As mentioned by XTR above, from the 2011 NRA International Fullbore Prone Rules:

<span style="font-weight: bold">F-Class Target (F-T/R)</span> - A rifle restricted to the chambers of unmodified .308 Winchester/7.62mm NATO or
unmodified .223 Remington/5/56mm x 45 NATO cartridge cases. The rifle must be fired off a bipod, rigidly
attached to the rifle’s forend, and/or a sling. Any bipod, meeting the definition of a bipod, may be used but its
weight must be included in the rifle’s overall weight. <span style="color: #FF0000">Any safe, manually operated trigger is permitted.</span> Any
sighting system is permitted , but it must be included in the rifle’s overall weight.

Don't think this is superseded by any of the Highpower rules that govern F-Class. As far as I can tell, the only rule that supersedes the above is the one banning release triggers: "3.16 - triggers which function on release are prohibited".
