Trigger tech triggers?

I run one on a Remington 700 Sendero SFII in 300WM (the primary I think they call it). I really like it. It is adjustable without removing the stock and has positive clicks that are supposed to be in 1 ounce increments (toward the bottom end that is not quite the case but the rest seems to hold true). Pull weight is very consistent also.

I have one each of their Primary and Special triggers. I've had Jewell, Timney, and factory Remington triggers in the past. The Trigger Techs are the most crisp, clean breaking triggers I've ever used. There truly is zero creep and they are very consistent. I've always personally felt that Jewells were a bit overrated in the "crispness" department. As Erik stated, they are very easy to adjust and the click adjustments are very nice. I can't tell the difference between the primary and special models. I believe the special can be adjusted to a lower pull weight, but they feel the same as the Primary.

I just bought a 'special' after trying it out at the NRA show. I don't think that I've ever felt a trigger so crisp and with zero creep. I didn't even plan on changing a trigger, but couldn't resist after pulling the trigger a few times. Their sales pitch was, "Here, try this trigger." Most convincing argument ever.

I bought one just a few days ago, from brownells. Havent shot the rifle yet, but it didnt seem very special to me. I do like the detented pull weight screw. Jury's out for me.

You should send it back then because it's not right. The few TT's I've messed with are the best feeling SS triggers so far. I have my Steyr and Anschutz 2S triggers set as close to SS as possible and they still have a tiny bit of creep, no spongy feel though.

That was just my initial impression from a bench test, no actual firing. I'll spend some time with it live fire before I take any action though.

I've had one on my Rem 700 for a couple years and really like it. This is before they come out with 2 different trigger models, so I don't know what differences there are, but for the $97 I paid, I really love it. I have it set for 2.5 lb which seems about right for me.

The only thing I did notice is that if the pull weight is set very low and you slam the bolt hard, it will no longer be cocked. I'm not sure if the gun would actually go off when this happens, I've not tried to duplicate it with a round in the chamber. This is just doing the normal testing/checking after trigger adjustment--dropping buttstock on floor and working bolt firmly...Seems like there was some info about this on the old site, but not sure. The lower the pull weight, the easier this happens.
Again, mine is a first gen trigger that may be different than the ones currently offered.

I like mine a lot. I have the regular model on one of my rifles and I will be switching over another rifle to one soon. The break is nice and the pull is very consistent. Highly recommend.

Any trigger will do this if there isn't enough spring pressure to reset the sear.

I bought one the "special" version. It's a good trigger. My only problem with it is I felt like there was a lot of travel after break. They advertise a very short overtravel but I found otherwise.

The break is impeccable and the lowest I could get it was 1.2LBS measured on a Lyman gauge

To be honest, after I bought my first Trigger Tech 700 trigger, I've pretty much decided I'd be using them for the rest of my rifles. For the price, I don't think they can be beat, and in PRS style use, there is no really benefit to getting a higher-end trigger imo. I've tried a Timney CE, and a Shilen, and I don't think either is worth the added cost over the TT. Maybe it's because I'm just not that good, idk lol.

Another thing to note, I've used the Special as well as the Primary triggers, and honestly I'd say to just get the regular Primary Trigger unless you are %100 certain you are going to want it super super light. I say this because my Primary trigger adjusts ALMOST as low as my Special for some reason. My primary goes to juuust above one pound, while my special goes to right at one pound. But I keep my triggers at about 1.5 anyways so I'd rather save the money and get the regular one.

You might want to give them a call and find out why that is. Mine has zero travel after break.

I borrowed one from a co-worker while his gun was being put together. It was the standard. I liked it so well that I bought 3 of the specials. They're all right at 1lb 1oz, I can get that last oz but that fine. They're an awesome trigger.

I did and they replaced it. Same thing on the second one. It could just be my perception. I measure about .050" shoe travel after break with a caliper.

please keep in mind that this is the only thing I could find wrong with this trigger. It is an excellent sugar, I know a gun Smith who has been torture testing it and they can not get it to fail

I went with the special on a new Rem build from LRI and have to say I will be sticking with Trigger Tech until something better comes along. I've ran most of the good triggers currently on the market and to my booger hooker Trigger Tech feels the best.

lol! I feel like you set me up for that one. Apparently you and I have a different view on what "a lot of travel after break" is. You are measuring just over 1/32" of travel, or more close to 3/64", and consider that a lot. You have a much more discerning trigger finger than I.

I think so. In the 510 price range they are worthy competitor. I was just looking for an action, and trying to decide if I wanted another Trigger Tech or 510. The trigger tech may have a slight advanget just on simplicity of design, and simplicity of features. To adjust pull weight you turn and allen head sure with detents. It really is the externaly adjustable factory trigger everyone was trying to make, only one step up in quality.

That's what i liked was the detent adjustment, though everyone seems to rave about the quality of trigger pull too.

I've only come from a savage Accu-trigger, but I love my 1.5lb triggertech on my Tempest action. Clean break and pretty wide trigger shoe

I'd be really interesting if they fielded a 2-stage. I run a CE 2-stage on my Tempest and it's suitable. Probably pick one up from brownells in the next week.

I have heard it a lot, and it feels crisp to me, but a 510 adjusted by the right person feels pretty damn good too. I can't tell the difference. They are both better than any factory trigger I have used, including the 40x.
