I never said anywhere in my post that I personally said there was anything wrong with the Huber, nor did i say go buy a Calvin elite because they are superior, only that I was hesitant because of the advice of someone way more knowledgeable than myself that said they wouldn't touch a Huber trigger, someone who has had their hands on probably more rifles and triggers than both me and you combined. Now I'm sure there are many people out there using Hubers and are happy, that's great, but right above this post is a consumer letting it be known there were safety concerns with his Huber so I guess he fucked his up as well.. I knew someone would get butt hurt because I mentioned this and that's exactly the reason I didn't drag the smiths name into this...

I have a Huber on an APA build. Has been perhaps the best rifle I've ever owned. That isn't proof of anything, but APA certainly knows how to build a great rifle!
If not a Huber, than what is the "best" 2 stage trigger? My vote is the AI, but for some strange reason, AI won't sell me just the trigger...
BTW, I've never had a trigger problem in my life...until this afternoon at Manners shop. On a 700, in a gun built by one of the top 3 smiths out there. Definitely didn't make me feel all fuzzy about that particular trigger (a 1 stage), and I'll likely be swapping it out in the near future for a 2 stage. I love custom guns, but boy the AI's look better all the time.

I have two Hubers - thousands of rounds out of each in all kinds of conditions - never even thought of cleaning it - they have not given me even the slightest of issues. I'm also enjoying the new Timney 2-stage in my Tikka, can't comment on durability yet.
I would like more info on any failures. Coming in here and saying "mine failed" is not enough. What did you do it? What did Huber do to it? I have two, never had a problem. My guess on a possible cause of the "problem" mentioned in this thread would be adjusting pull weight too far. To change more than 1/2 pound it needs to be sent in to have some parts changed.
You and your smith can choose whatever parts you want, but pretending there is some inherent problem with Huber is ignorant. Calling out bullshit is not butt hurt, its what we do here. This ignorant ass he said she said doesn't fly here. You and your smith obviously have little to no experience or knowledge of the trigger.
Like I said, buy what the fuck you want, I really don't give a flying fuck what you buy or what you think... I'll tell you what, I can't 100% tell you there is anything mechanically unsafe with Huber triggers as I'm no engineer, but I'm pretty sure you can't tell me otherwise without knowing the trigger both inside and out and having some knowledge of engineering as well. So let's just leave it at that, and we can stop all this "Bullshit" right here and now.
T7T is a pain to fit but it's by far the trigger as far as reliability . I've had and seen many triggers go down but yet a T7T just an observation .
I would recommend looking up two YouTube videos by TiborasaurusRex (he also has videos under Sniper 101). He reviewed the Huber two-stage trigger, and found it to be the best. He has a lot of videos about guns, scopes, etc. and seems to really know what he is talking about. He is also a Very accurate shooter himself.
I've used a CG Xtreme mod 22 for a couple of years. It works great, I like the break and don't mind the over travel. I switched out to the lighter spring, and set my pull weight to 10oz. I was able to get it lower but I 10oz felt good to me.
I used to have a Timney CE 2 stage, but sold it. It had some creep and I just wasnt happy with the feel of it. I have broken a couple of Timney 510s.
I Live in a very dusty/windy area, and have shot my rifle in duststorms. The last time that happened I still had a Timney 510 in my rifle. The trigger was inoperable for a couple of pulls after the storm passed, but the grit worked itself out and my trigger was working again. That's the most I've ever put a trigger through.
I would like to hear more about the BnAs and and Trigger Techs.

I won a certificate for a Huber at a match. I then go to redeem the certificate and Huber tells me he voided the certificate (as well as several others). It appears that Huber made some mistakes and voided the Certs. I purchased a two stage BnA Tacsport and love it. My next build will have a BnA.

From what I heard Huber had an employee who sent out WAY too many certs to matches last year and after a certain point the company just stopped honoring them. At my local matches at least the 50% off certs were being handed out like candy and they still had more than they could even give away, just for a local club that only shot 1-day matches.
Dont get the timney. It has overtravel when hitting the 2nd stage wall. I have yet to try a two stage that doesnt have overtravel past the second stage except on an airgun though.
I didn't like that the Huber doesn't reset the first stage. It's inconsistent, which is the opposite of what I want in a trigger and just bothered me. It also caused my Mausingfield to have some cock on close action, which isn't a fault of the trigger, just the relationship between the two, but it was enough reason to ditch the Huber. Their customer service is excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of their single stage triggers but I'm currently running a TriggerTech single stage and don't see myself going away from that anytime soon. They seem pretty bulletproof.
Over travel isn't a bad thing. I personally like a little bit of over travel, and so do a lot of others.
Are you talking creep or overtravel?
Creep = movement before the break and rifle fires
Overtravel = movement of trigger after firing
Creep. You hit the firm 2nd stage wall. Then you apply pressure to overcome the wall and break the wall but it keeps going for another 2-3 mm or so before it shoots. I like a trigger that shoots once you break that 2nd stage wall. Its still a useable trigger but ive used better. Sadly its like once youve tasted the feeling of a great and light 2 stage trigger, you can never feel satisfied downgrading.

I watched a bix n Andy fail and slam fire about a month ago in moderately dirty conditions, replaced it with a trigger tech and was gtg the next 4 days. My the timneys and trigger techs were perfect.
Bix had to be flushed from the top but the guy didn't trust it after that. It may be a great bench rest trigger but for prs or field work I would not personally use it

TriggerTech according to their statement is still supposed to come out with a 2-stage version of their Rem 700 Diamond in Q2, that leaves them one more month to make their set deadline. If I were you and would still be in the market for one for my new build I would wait, I however settled for a single stage version to be able to get some range time with that baby. I got to talk to a few folks who had gotten to try them out at ShotShow in the meantime and they said they would've been worth the wait. Well. there's always next time.
