Triggertech 2 stage?

My TT seems to have a flaw in it. If I slap the bolt closed when the trigger is set below about 8 oz. my gun discharges.
Now that winter is here, it will need to go back to TT and see what they say.
EDIT: I just got off the phone with Ed and he said that it will probably be about a week turn around time.
He didn't have the slightest hesitation about replacing the unit. So that is just one more thing that I like my Vudoo for. Quality has no regrets.....

Very very unlikely to be a trigger issue

TT diamond is the most common culprit of this issue. Cause people run them super light. They cant pass drop tests. And everyone expects to just run the bolt as hard as possible and not have issues

I run all of my guns the same way. I tend to slap them around with my fingers and thumb. The Annies and CZ 457s. The Annies are factory set at 6.38 oz. and my CZs are set to 9 oz. with a trigger spring lighter than theYoDave spring.

I don’t run mine lower than 1.5-1.25lbs. But I’ve turned all of them down to 6oz or so and on about 6 rifles, they all have passed drop tests.

In fact, other than an AI factory set at 3lbs or over, triggertech Diamond has been the only trigger I haven’t been able to get to fail a drop test without literally throwing it like a spear into a tile floor.

not saying they cant be safe. but ive seen/heard of them fail drop and hard bolt use more than anything else by a long shot. and that includes builds by very very well known smiths

SHOT 2019 is when we first heard that song! Not holding my breath. Sizzle and a lot of fizzle.

Agreed. I’ve moved on. They dropped the ball on the release.

The ones I felt at SHOT didn’t blow me away. I prefer my diamond single stage.

That being said, they had them turned down very light as they said that’s what most people want so that’s what they had them set at. If they were adjusted heavier maybe the feel would have been different.

Also, the first stage travel is fairly short and not adjustable. To me, with the weight turned way down it felt like a single stage with a lot of creep.

Bummer. I always hear great things about the TT Diamond, but I’m solidly in the 2-stage camp. I prefer an AI-style, with a longer 1st stage followed by a defined wall with a clean break at the 2nd stage. Guess I’ll stick with my Timneys and Geissele Super700s.
