Have just installed a Triggertech primary trigger to my Remington 700 and having an issue with inconsistent pull weights, doesn't matter if the trigger is set at 1.5 or 3lbs pull weights can vary by up to 1lb but mostly jumps around by half a pound. Have been in contact with triggertech and am sure there will be no worries warranty wise, however I am wondering if there is an issue with the firing pin/Spring. I say this because the trigger tech is replacing a timney which was also being inconsistent. However when I put the standard xmark trigger back in, it is a consistent 4.5lb. I'm pulling my hair out wanting to get out on the range! Any one had a similar experience?

Wow well ive heard tt customer service is top notch so hopefully you experience the same. Hopefully someone with a bit more experience then myself can chime in on this but personally I have 1 primary, 1 special and 2 diamonds and never any issues!

Check to see the trigger or safety is not touching the stock. Also ensure the side bolt release (if fitted) has clearance. Sometimes I see them (or any trigger) installed into a new stock and there's interference.

take your firing pin spring out and clean it and the inside of the bolt, should be part of routine maintenance, the lube and grease maybe caked causing erratic trigger pull, also the sear side of the bolt may need polished

Well they have fantastic service, I pierced a primer, called and told them I pierced a primer and they still took care of it. You might find their warranty sheet online and mail it in, if I remember right you don't mail to Canada, warranty stuff goes here in Merica somewhere.

I know you said the timney does it too but: How old is the primary, if its an early one the carbide rollers can crack and lead to issues, they had a recall on it. https://triggertech.com/pages/safety

I've only seen it once before, but incorrect sized trigger pin / trigger well. Was an action with a trigger hanger / frame insert, and it was artificially tweaking the trigger so the sear would not work properly.

Does the trigger so it on all pull weights ? Set to minimum, try it, set to middle range, try a few, set to maximum, try again.

I think I'm all out of ideas unless I was to physically see it
