TriggerTech - reviews, thoughts, recommendations...?

I have standard from when they first came to market and love it but Im not sure I would wait around for a couple months for it over a timney. I am starting a slow build and am contemplating a special version this time around just to get it down a little bit further but honestly thats only due to curiosity and not my finding anything lacking in the normal version.

Have had a standard trigger for a little over a year now. No complaints. It can't be set below about 2lb, but 2lb is usually where I run them anyway. No creep, clean break. I like it. I'd say I prefer it to a Timney ever so slightly.

I get to play with a ton of triggers and the TT Special is exceptional in all categories, just make sure to check your clearances on the trigger shoe (espc the flat), and housing.

THat's interesting - it was the flat that I was interested in. Any knowledge of how it fits in the DBM that comes with a KWM Sentinel by chance?

Thanks - what does it have over a Timney in your view? Spife - what do you feel the Special has over the primary - is it just the lower pull weight?

The Timney seems to have more flex or creep. The TT is a brick wall then an absolutely clean break. I mean you have to get really picky to draw that line, but the TT is just a liiiiittle better feel.

If you want under 2lb, the Timney is probably the way to go. Or the newer TT version? Until this thread I was unaware of its existence.

So I think I'm going to go full retard and get the Bix'n Andy 2 stage comp. Having the ability to have one trigger and use it as either a single or two stage and the range of pull is just too good to pass up. I might still replace the Timney I have on my current rifle with the TT though. Thanks for the answers and contributions!

I loved my TT, until I had a mini PRS match... When I cycled the action quickly, slamming the bolt forward, it would fail to cock my 5r. The piece of cake was hearing one of the range officers comment that they had a buddy who's TT had the same problem. Maybe mine was a dud, maybe it's a "normal" issue, but it was repeatable.

I've fired both the primary and the special. The only difference between the two that I can tell is pull weight. The special is a 1-3.5lbs. And the primary is 1.5-4 lbs. They are both excellent triggers. They feel a bit different then a standard jewell or times. The only one that I could compare them to is a bix.

I have had the standard TT for some time now. Compared to the two Timney triggers that I have (all three in Rem 700s) I prefer the TT. When adjusted to the same pull weights I feel the TT has a cleaner, crisper break than either Timney. The only negative thing I have to say about the TT is that (like others have said) it would not adjust to the advertised 1.5# pull, only to 2#. If that is important to you, you should look into the special version or another brand.

I ordered a special from CORE today, maybe it was yesterday. Not sure. What made me try it out is because I got so used to shooting the worked over Remington trigger on my RWS 223 that I get irritated by the creep of my Calvin elite in my primary rifle. I never even noticed it had creep till I used the worked Remington trigger. Hoping the TT is crisp. I may try and increase the weight of the timney to see if it helps. I may just sell it, not sure yet.

I just got mine installed this week and it is SWEET. The break is impressive for the price point. I didn't get the "special" I just got the regular one. I hear people saying that they can't set theirs below 2 pounds sometimes, but mine seems to be able to get there just fine, in fact, if I adjust it to the lightest setting, I can even get it to go below 1.5 pounds. Hell, maybe my trigger weight gauge is broken idk. It sure feels really really light. But I like a 2 pound trigger, so that's what I've set it to, but it can definitely go lower.

No over-travel, solid break, no drama. It gets my vote for best trigger in this price point. But I've only tried this one, a Shilen, and a 510. There isn't a huge difference between them, but for some reason I enjoy this one the most. I got the flat trigger though, maybe that's why. I'm finding that I like flat triggers.

I ordered mine directly from them during a Black Friday sale they had going on lol. Prices seem to be pretty even across the board. And yep, they have excellent customer service at the source.

I was debating on trying out the Trigger Tech. I prefer to have the same trigger across all my rifles for uniformity and I've hit the road block of wanting a two stage Timney CE in all my rifles but they won't produce a lefty. So I'm looking to go single stage and try Trigger Tech because of the reviews. Everything here sounds promising and I may make the switch.

I really like my TriggerTech. I'm running it on a R700 5R .308 Win. It seems to be quality made and it sure performs well according to my standards anyway. The Rem trigger was crap and the TriggerTech made a good grouping rifle a great one.

First group after new trigger install. The following groups were great as well, nothing over .5 MOA, even in high wind conditions.
