Probably another topic that's been covered, but oh well.

Don't have any experience with the TriggerTech Triggers. Picked up my barreled action yesterday from my Smith and he had good things to say about them. I'd love to hear what experience you guys have with them. I've got nothing but Timney and Shilen in my bolt guns and I gotta tell ya, Timney is off my list until they straighten out their slam fire issues. Personally seen my Smith go through hell with them and the back and forth of 'here, try this'. Unacceptable.

Anyhow, short of just saying 'screw it' and picking up a Jewell, like I said, I'd love to hear if anyone has anything good, bad, or indifferent about TriggerTech Triggers for a Model 700.

They are one of the best single stage triggers available. Very reliable and easy to adjust with a single screw. I ran one for the last 6 months, but have decided I match up best with a 2 stage trigger and working with a Huber now. I have a Diamond with Flat shoe available for sale if you're interested.

If you are into single stage triggers then the TriggerTech Diamond is excellent. I would prefer a Timney CE to the cheaper TriggerTech's, but I would much prefer a TT Diamond to the Timney CE. I don't care for Jewell triggers at all. I am a 2 stage Huber shooter so take my opinions on single stage triggers as you will.

I use either 2 stage Hubers or B&A. I have found them to be the best for what it's worth!

I may be in LE, but I'm just not a flat shoe guy. ;) I appreciate the feedback and the kind offer. If it were curved I'd be PM'ing ya. Thx again.

What are you going to use it for ? Hunting or just punching holes in paper ? I haven't hunted in a long time and all of my long guns have Jewells on them. I bought them back when Huber, TT, B&A didn't exist and Timney was a Sears/Walmart kinda trigger. I have a bias toward Jewells, but I also have heard that others don't like them and/or have had reliability problems. I did have a mainspring break once, a long time ago. I called Jewell and they express mailed three new springs to me without question and with apologies.

I did buy a TT about a year ago, just to try it out. I go against most other's opinions as I didn't care for it much. Compared to my Jewells, the TT felt mushy. I also set my triggers light and to get the TT to where I wanted the pull weight to be, I think the adjustment screw was within a half turn of falling out.

I've entertained the idea of trying a B&A or a Huber, based on the chatter I've heard. I did try a buddy's B&A at the range where I shoot. He had it set up for benchrest andwas frighteningly light. It broke very, very clean, but took some getting used to because of where he had the pull weight set.

The other aspect is that my Jewells are all set the same, the B&A/Hubers are big bucks (by comparison) to my Jewells (long since paid for/amortized) and if I bought B&A/Huber, I'd probably have to replace all the Jewells. In other words, the Jewells are consistent (across all my long guns) and I'm not having to shell out big bucks for new triggers with capabilities that I may not appreciate.

I ran jewels and have been switching over to the TT diamonds. I’ve got a few jewel HVRs laying around if you need a good deal on one.

The Diamond should address the issue you describe. It was designed specifically to accommodate pull weights down to 4 oz.

I blind ordered a Diamond about 6 weeks ago based on lots of glowing reviews from people I trust. Still have not received the trigger; based on the lead time, they must be in high demand.

Hey my friend, it's mostly gonna be for dinging steel and punching holes in paper, but I will toss it in the rig during hunting season hopefully this year to maybe pop something off the convenience of a landing on one of those sought after 'nice' days. ;) Appreciate your input as always !! May just go to the "Accessories" sale section and post up a WTB yada yada trigger and see if I can cut a deal. I'll try just about anything, but I'm not messing with the aforementioned company again.

Yeah, I think when I ordered mine, the Diamond wasn't yet available.....And, to change out my Jewell's, it'd be ~ $850.00. I'm not hatin' my Jewells enough right now to put that dent on my credit card. Conversely, I have seen some pretty damn good deals here and other boards for Jewells. I think it's like anything. The pendelum of hype (mixed in with honest/valid reviews) tends to swing to extremes. Honestly, I'm kind of sad to see Jewell getting dissed lately. They've been a really good trigger for a long time and the product hasn't really changed (which, I think is part of their (image) problem).

If I had a clean slate to work with, I probably would look at those triggers that are more expensive than Jewells. I'm certain I'd be happy with a Huber or B&A.

For hunting, I'd probably dial in some more sear engagement and increase the pull weight from what you had set for plinking. I 'spose that's probably true with most triggers though. I think most modern triggers are this way, but the Jewells can be adjusted without removing the barreled action from the stock. Big plus there.

That is a nice feature with the Jewells and must be convenient for those that will adjust them back and forth. I try to keep all my triggers at 2.5 lbs for everything, except my timber hunting rigs which run at around 4 lbs.

I have the TriggerTech special, which I traded my Timney CE for. For me, personally, I prefer the TT. I like the adjustability of the trigger and it’s easy to access without removing the action from the chassis. I had a 2 stage Flat shoe CE and I prefer the single stage curved model of the TT special.

I don’t think anyone should diss the jewels, they are still great single stage triggers and I still have several of them. I moved to the diamonds on 2 match rifles just because I had read reports of them failing in dusty conditions and my range is pretty damn dusty. To be fair I have never had a problem with them so I may have jumped on the bandwagon but I will still keep the jewels in a few rifles.

I had the 2 I replaced with TT laying around so I gave 1j04 a good deal so he could get his rifle together. Hope he enjoys it!!

    Good for single stage triggers.

Used to run single stage triggers, but I'm a big fan of 2 stage triggers now. More control and makes you focus more on implementing the fundamentals correctly, especially in compromised/unstable positions.

All my rifles have Bix 'n Andy Tacsport 2 stage triggers on them - completely adjustable and they are a good value at their price. I sold my TT.

It's gonna be awesome, and as I stated in my text, your generosity will not go unnoticed. I appreciate the hell outta your kind act. ;)
