Trijicon Credo 2-10?

Looking at getting a scope for my 6.5 Grendel build. Gas gun with an 18" proof carbon barrel. Looking for a scope that will be used for close to mid-range shooting ~600 yds. Weapon will be a hunting/tactical hybrid. I have been tossing around the idea of the Trijicon 2-10x36mm MOA precision tree. Not a lot of information out there on them. Looking for an MOA scope, tree reticle, around that magnification range that is durable.

Is there a better option out there for ~$900? Any reviews on Trijicon's turret tracking in the past? I would assume the durability would be great coming from the company that makes ACOG's and RMR's.

I would buy a Nightforce SHV 3-10x42 over the Credo. It will be SFP instead of FFP. Tracking is great and they can be found for $650-750.

I've been tossing around the idea of the SHV line. The reticles offered on the SHV have been the only downside. The Credo stuck out because of the grid format reticle. Feel that it would aid in fast follow-up shots. Haven't decided on if I would like a SFP or a FFP on this build.

The NF MOAR reticle is pretty fast for follow up shots. Has the elevation and windage grid

I was underwhelmed by the 2-10 Credo, even at price point. I found myself loosing the reticle (even at 10x) anytime the conditions were less than ideal.

There is a PSTII 2-10 and Burris XTRII 2-10. I don't have trouble picking up the reticle at low power in my Weaver 2-10x36 tactical.

I've never been able to get my hands on a Nightforce (2-10) for a price I wanted to pay, and I've been keeping an eye out.

For under 1K (including weight considerations) I'd suggest looking into the Vortex LHT 3-15.

It is second focal plane.

It looses the tree.

The MIL version (the only one I have experience with) has a useable reticle and illumination.

I took it out and ran it in a spotting role at a known distance range.

It functioned acceptably for picking up trace (good trace day) and making corrections.

You would not mistake it for outstanding glass, but I think there is good value there.

(I run it in conjunction with a red dot... and it mostly lives at 15x. SFP hasn't been a factor in this application.)

I plan on running an off-set red dot as well so I guess I'm not fixed to the 2-10 magnification range. I know with my budget I'm not going to be able to get it all but I'm placing reliability very high on the list for this build. I'd like to find an NSX 2-10 in my budget, just don't think that's going to happen.

I think about it too.

The ATACR 4-16x42 Mil-XT seems to cover all the bases for me... except for the 10oz weight penalty.

I tried the Credo 2-10 and lost interest immediately.

The LHT is light.

Could it break?

I guess so.

Let me know if you get your hands on a NXS and what you think.

(I find myself running most of my optics in the 15-16x range in field conditions. I run red dots at 12. They do the crude work. When I'm target oriented, I slip down from a chin to a cheek weld into magnification. 10x doesn't feel like enough for these eyes.)

If you are wanting an NXS 2-10, think about bumping the budget to 1200-1300. Could use your Biden Bucks.

To throw another scope in the mix, how does the Primary Arms GLx 2.5-10x44mm FFP with the ACSS Griffin Mil compare? Still debating between the Nightforce SHV 3-10x42mm, the Trijicon Credo 2-10x36mm, and now the Primary Arms.

Is the durability and glass quality there with the Primary Arms? Really looking for an FFP, exposed turret with a grid reticle around the sub $1000 mark. The Primary Arms is about $200 cheaper than the others.

I did not notice anything bad about the quality of there scopes on the forum link. Everything seemed positive about the scopes and the company. I get the whole debate between supporting Chinese made products though.

I think I’ve came to the conclusion that a SWFA SS HD 3-9x42mm might be my best bet. Not the most feature rich scope but seems to have all that is really needed. Reliable tracking and built like a tank.

Haven’t not spent any time behind one I’m just apprehensive about the quality of the glass. Any comparisons to something like a Leupold VX series or a Vortex Razor LHT as far as glass quality?

Might want to read the fine print of the NF SHV warranty - the scope isn't sealed and water damage isn't covered under warranty.

I would look at the Eptech Vudu FFP 2.5-10x44. Dvor has them for $690 - awesome scope imo.

GLx series is made in Phillippines, PLx in Japan.

I have two credo 2-10x MRADs on my wish list

I currently have

NF NXS 2.5-10x/42 MIL-R
L&S Mk4 2.5-8x TMR
VO PST G2 2-10x EBR-4

On various stoner rifles, though only the VO fits the sub $1k threshold. Nothing wrong with the VO, though it "tunnels" right at the bottom. It has parallax adjustment, so does the NF, the L&S doesn't. I don't find these scopes need much parallax adjustment though. The credo doesn't have it, but I think it will be fine.

I own the 2-10 credo and a buddy has the GLx 2.5-10 with ACSS. The credo reticle is thin but the scope seems pretty well bomb proof. The GLx is shorter, lighter, and cheaper with a significantly nicer turret setup with zero stop AND zero lock, where as the trijicon just has a zero stop and no lock.

I cant say for sure which I like better over all, but the GLx gives the best value hands down and cant be argued.

Trijicon costs more, but Ive been putting rounds on it through a 16" 6.5CM AR10 upper since may of 2020 and have come to be able to put my faith in it as an optic. For the record I also have a GLx 6-24 on my tikka and the 2.5-10 seems to compare very favorably with it and I really like that 6-24. Hence I would get the 2.5-10 griffin mil reticle with hesitation personally.

Wig- so how is the 5x prism? I have a PA 3x and PA 1-6 ffp . Thought the 5x might be a good 1-300 yd scope

I never mounted it. Between when I ordered it and it arrived, I went in multiple different directions ... getting some 3.4x m145 elcans

And some 3.5x ACOGs ...

So, at 500yds with the ECLANs, I have no problem hitting the target (I shoot IPSC(2/3) when I'm shooting at distance) and seeing the dust splash of the misses. Thus, I'd say the 5x is good for 750yds.
Once you try shooting distance with less magnification, you find you don't need as much Not saying there are'nt limits, but you can push passed some of the limits

So, I'll be putting the PA up for sale now that I have all these Elcans and ACOGs

Also got a VO pst g2 1-6x which will work well with a thermal clipon I have ...

So better features out of the GLx just wondering how the warranty stacks up agains the trijicon. I don’t mind sacrificing features for durability. I know you can’t have it all but I’d like to come close for my money
