Looks like some kid with some nighty night goon googles and boom sticks making a stink about his MRO. He does bring up some valid issues, but It's not the holy grail of red dots, soooo...
I have no clue.
Pretty much why I posted it, I got interested in this and wanted to know how people here experience this sight.
I have one, along with a couple of Aimpoints. The MRO is not as bad as that guy makes it out to be. I don't miss because of the MRO.
I have no dog in the fight, but I did not catch him to claim to miss because of it. He just tested that his MRO had larger parallax than competitors, which in the test setting was enough to miss the plate.
I do not either think he falsified Trijicons emails, which I would not say to have been very helpful to any customer. Not that they were rude or such.
Clearly the title is false, clickbaitish, but I accept controversial rhetorics to get a point across. Nothing new in todays world.
I think it's important to be open minded to criticism. I don't own an MRO, but have owned other Trijicon products (Acog, RMRs, even the old reflex sight). Just cause a company has put out quality products in the past, doesn't mean they can't put out a dud, and I don't think someone needs a pedigree to give an objective opinion.

Not going to click on the video because I don't want to get dumber, but the MRO is a good optic. It does have a bit more parralax than some others, but with a proper cheek weld it's a non issue. Unlike others (Aimpint), the MRO's dot doesn't look like a giant / to me. Huge plus to Trijicon there.
If you want no parralax, the MRO HD is awesome and it uses a new reticle technology that doesn't even hardly bloom when cranked up which is pretty cool.

Trijicon is famous for floating an occasional turd of an optic, then not taking responsibility for it. I have experienced this twice and have thus stopped buying anything from Trijicon till it has been out long enough for A. me to use someone else's before I spend money on it, and B. it to be torture tested by a few people I trust.
I doubt it is quite as bad as he makes it out to be, but why bother if Aimpoint does exactly what I want and the $delta is tolerable.
I can attest to the shit-show that is their "we rule, you suck" customer service response policy.

MRO's suck, full stop. Finally an accurate review IMO.
I like Trijicon and all, have owned a bunch of their stuff over the years, I currently own/use 2 SRO's and 1 RMR, but yeah, the MRO...
The MRO was fucked up from the start (wasn't 1X, had magnification and distortion around the edges) and they just never really fixed it because it has always sold well for them. The early ones were really bad, then they announced they fixed them past a certain serial number, but they didn't (they just weren't as bad).
I've had 4 of them before I gave up: 2 red ones did the back and fourth to Trijicon HQ and came back just as shitty, then 2 other green ones because once again those fuckers put it out there that the green ones were finally fixed and finally a true 1X... nope.
Then they release the MRO HD, that is finally actually true 1X, but it's twice the price, and because it's got a donut reticle option, the battery life sucks now (and supposedly there's all sorts of issues with the emitters).
Check out Holosun. I have a real Aimpoint T2 and I'm fine with the Holosun's from here on out unless it's going on a gun that goes to work day-in day-out. I have 2 of their T2 clones with the knob (no buttons, 403R), crystal clear, true 1X, daylight bright dot.
To be honest the SRO's aren't true 1X either, they're light years better than the MRO's, and are fast and seem to hold up on pistol slides, but glass-wise they could be better too. The glass on the Sig Romeo 3XL/3MAX's is better and actually 1X, they just die quickly.

Such has been my experience as well. Over the years I’ve been forced to run their optics in various configurations, but there’s always been something better and there’s always been shortcomings with the Trijicons. Trijicon has a lot of arrogance, coupled with a lot of ignorance. On at least two occasions I’ve gotten into it with their reps where they’ve asserted the excellence of their products and I’ve pointed out massive flaws.
I have experience with the MRO and it’s not terrible, but it’s also not great and I wouldn’t ever use one voluntarily. The guy on the video is being super dramatic and over-blowing the issue, but there’s nuggets of truth. Yes, the parallax on the MRO is worse than any other optic. Yes, it’s enough that it can be a problem if you’re shooting from asymmetric position where you can’t keep the dot centered in the housing. No, it’s not a problem for most shooters. And secondly, yes, Trijicon is arrogant while at the same time being completely ignorant to their own shortcomings, be it unintentional or intentional ignorance. The only red dots that Trijicon has successfully produced are the RMR and SRO, and they’re both not without their own issues and they’re far from perfect. Now that Aimpoint dropped the ACRO P-2, they’ve again demonstrated that they really don’t have any worries about Trijicon eating their lunch.
I agree that dude is over the top in his delivery... but honestly I get it.
I don't think the parallax issue is the MRO's biggest fault (even though it's terrible), most of us shoulder our guns fairly square to most targets and won't even encounter it... so if fucked up parallax was the only issue, one could actually still run an MRO no problemo.
I think (and seems like dude in the video agrees) that the biggest thing is it's a fucking optic, a thing built for humans to look through, and yet it's absolutely terrible to look through!
Red dots are meant to be run both eyes open, always, and the MRO will absolutely drive one crazy if used like this (especially if you've used dots that work correctly for any amount of time).
When I see guys post stuff like "it's not that bad" concerning the MRO's, I actually feel bad for them because if they keep lying to themselves like that, they're going to need therapy one day.
I hate running an optic with magnification when it's supposed to be 1X, I almost forgot how much that annoys me until seeing this thread. I had to try like 6 different LPVO's on my AR before I found one I was happy with. In fact, as soon as someone comes out with a large pistol dot that can stand up to living on a competition gun and doesn't break all the time (looking at you Leupold and Sig), you'll find my SRO's in the PX. If someone made one as bombproof as the RMR and true 1X (RMR is also slightly magnified/distorted) that'd be gone too.
If someone reads this and thinks I'm crazy: I challenge you to put an MRO next to the cheapest Holosun dot you can find or even a fucking Bushnell TRS-25, run them both eyes open back-to-back... you'll never be able to unsee it, and it will annoy you forever.
AND: I never tried any of these Trijicon dots under NODS but: looks like a fucking shit-show!!! I'm mad at the wealthy operators of the gun world for not telling us about this! Trijicon legit sells pallets and pallets of shit to the military, there was always a good chance an MRO would end up being used on a 2-way range under NODS, that shit is sad and inexcusable for a supposed top-tier outfit.

It does seem like they've been resting on their laurels and getting by on their name. Their claim to fame was the acog correct? The rmr is solid but getting long in the tooth and being left behind by others. They bought ir defense and have done nothing with it while n-vision and other companies are constantly pushing. I wanted to like the mro but the "dot" is a slash, especially with a magnifier.
First of all, none of mine have any magnification. They are all true 1x. Not sure what the pre 90K SN issues were as I never had any, but I didn’t hear of that either.
Second, trying to line up and focus a rifle mounted red dot with nods under stress is slow. That’s what IR lasers are for.
The parallax issue is well documented. Even a really good thread on here about testing it.

Re SRO (and RMR) glass complaints. All those "issues" are invisible when the sight is used like it's supposed to be used: focusing on the target by looking around/past the optic and not through it.
I also have some comparable Holosun products. Their micro rifle sights (like the SIG Romeo 5) work fine. Their pistol optics (407/507) suck because their reticles are complete crap that draw your eye to them no matter how hard you try to stay focused on the target. It might be just me but I don't have that problem with either of my Trijicon pistol RDS so why bother. Now the 507 sits in a drawer as backup in case one of my three Trijicons ever needs repair.
I love to buy American and all but I will never buy another mro.

Something I did not see mentioned about the MRO is the battery replacement. The battery compartment has very delicate gold prong contacts. These are very easy to damage. I saw someone damage their MRO in broad daylight doing a battery replacement. Maybe this has been corrected. Generally Trijicon stuff is good, MRO not so much.

it could be true it might be just his opinion . companies make a good product sometimes get lazy think ok is good enough we don't have to keep pressing it to get better just cheaper to make more profit maybe have it made in china for next to nothing so everything is profit . Maybe the maker of the video is trying to wake the company up to show them they are falling behind ( someone should have done this for many gun makers that have died maybe they would still be around maybe .
