Hey guys i recently purchased an M1a EBR online and i also picked up my trijicon Acog sight. i put it on a GDI mount and i just got back from the range today to sight it in and i had NO LUCK. There were a bunch of army sniper guys there and i asked one to help me out (he was an older guy) After about 20 or so rounds i still had shit luck sighting this thing in. I need some help, I know my mount is sitting really high on the gun, (that is to be expected) this is my first ACOG scope so i might have been doing something wrong but does anyone have any tips, tricks or advice that could help me out. The guy kept telling me that it was shooting way high, so i tried to lower it but i couldn't go any further down. In the mean time i put a BSA hunting scope on it (this is only until i figure this mess out). I know the Acogs will work on high mounted guns, because Ive seen m16's with the 4x32 mounted on the handle sights.

I assume you inverted the photos? Otherwise everything on that rifle looks backwards. Things that should be on the left side are on the right and vise versa. I was going nuts over that, I knew something was out of place, just couldn't figure out what.

Ditch it and run a regular 1-4X scope like the Accupoint. ACOG's and M14's rarely mix well. They can be forced together but tend not to be worth the headaches. I've only seen maybe 3 people happy with an ACOG on their M14 and that's just because they were on ACOG's nuts like a squirrel in the winter. Probably not the answer you want but it's a realistic answer.

Our G1-OSM mounts are being used successfully throughout the DOD on the M14 EBR/DMR platforms w/Trijicon ACOGs. Unless you're requiring on/off removal functionality for your ACOG w/the TA51 thumbknob mount, you have the option of mounting your ACOG directly to the G1-OSM (w/o additional elevation of the thumbknob mount) to allow for a lower optic positioning.

Our mount is designed to allow for the lowest possible mounting of the optic, in addition to bringing the ACOG optic rearward to allow for proper eye-relief, without the removal of the iron sights. These advantages are what is being sought out by military and LE personnel.

Below you will see a couple of examples of the mount with the ACOG.

Please contact us directly by going to our website: www.gdiengineering.com, and we'll assist you further with your optic mounting.

Best regards,
GDI

Re: TRIJICON TA11 on m1a sage with GDI mount HELP!!!

Thanks for the comments, The pictures are backwards because they were taken from my laptops camera (couldn't find my digital at the time) and I know the acog is facing the wrong direction, it was merely to show an example of height. I cannot begin to tell you how relived I am that others with identical set ups are able to run this acog and zero the scope. However, does anyone have any experience with zeroing them? As the original post notes I was simply unable to adjust the sight any lower when attempting to sight it in, Is this common? If not any ideas of proper procedure? The directions that came with the sight are great for AR platforms but given that I have the leaning tower on my gun I was unable to gather helpful information from it. Let me clarify that the mount is great I just need to make sure the scope can zero to 100 meters.

I'd suggest a Sadlak mount. You can adjust the MOA cant on those. I don't know shit about the mount your trying to use but if it doesn't replace that stripper clip mount throw it in the trash. There are other mounts don't offer the adjustment and you can tell because they don't use an offset washer. Good luck
