I can get into a trijicon accupoint at dealer cost. Which one should I put on my 6.8spc 20" ar-15 setup for pig and varmint hunting. I just sold my Millett TRS 1 and liked the tactical style of it and I'm considering the accupoint 2.5x10x56mm ($650) or accupoint 5x20x50mm ($775) scope. the 2.5x10 isn't a tactical style. Will I miss those features or are they fine for hunting and target shooting?

Is a 10x scope enough for long range varmint hunts? For a $125 is it worth jumping to the bigger scope?

Re: Trijicon Which one?

Im not much of a fan with the accupoint portion of the reticle (triangle). I looked through the 6.5-20 with the mildots awhile back and it was quite nice. Seems quite sturdy as well. After 14 there isn't much value in my opinion but IF YOU like it an can use it go for it.
.
I'm not as knowledgeable regarding the technical aspects as some here but those are my observations based on my friends 3-9 that I used before. It would have its advantages in speed and of course low light but not sure how it would be with precision.

Re: Trijicon Which one?

I thought Trijicon shines in the tactical area - "speed and low light" as has been pointed out. For myself I'd probably choose 5-20x50 with a MilDot reticle. But it depends on the shooting distance you expect. Maybe either one would be fine if your distance isn't too great for them?
