Tripod Saddle Question.

I've got a Manfrotto tripod with ball head that I've used for photography and would like to convert it to a rifle saddle. I'm just doing 22 tactical shoots - NRL22 type shoots, so I don't need/want a $400 + carbon fiber light high end unit.

I've found two that might work well but would like to get some input if there are other comparable or better saddles out there.

The first is the Pig Saddle. Looks like a well built unit that would be durable and functional enough.

The second is the Triclamps Solo. They also have a cam lock version but that looks too difficult to change from one stock to another.

So my question is; Any experience good or bad with these? And are there others that I should be looking at?

Pig saddle becaused it’s machined not plastic.

Pig Saddle. Does it’s job. I’ve had no problems.

I have a pig saddle, had not heard of the other until now. I think i would still prefer the pig saddle because it's made of heavy aluminum vs plastic. I'm reasonably sure i can pass it on to my son and grandson, not so sure about long term stability of the plastics.

I also have a pig saddle. I use it most often to hold the rifle at the proper height on a tripod while cleaning. Good piece of gear if you’re looking at a budget saddle

Good idea @Feesh. I'll keep that in mind. My Tikka T1X is under 10 # so the Pig Saddle won't have problem with that.

I used to run hog saddles... but subsequently sold them due to the RRS Vyce being significantly better.
