Just checking to see IF ANYONE has had one.. used one.. played with one... etc..

I am looking at the 5 X 20 X 50mm MILDOT... Seems like a GOOD looking scope...

Just wanted to know if they are durable and recommended for a .338 LM scope..

Thanks
Matt.

Re: Trjicon Variable Power Scope?

I got one of those in the exact same config you are asking. Its eyerelief is fairly long plus it is Trijicon tough so it should work on your Lapua mag.

Yes, it is one good scope with Nightforce level of glass. In fact, I wonder if the Nightforce Japan factory assembled it.

Just make sure you get a 20 MOA rail

Re: Trjicon Variable Power Scope?

Mine is still for sale, great scope, highly recommend (I sold the gun that was under it, so no need for it any longer.)

The reticle is nice in that it gives a low-light aiming point (green dot at cross hairs) but the dot doesn't bloom as some low light reticles do. Eye relief is generous.

This is my third Accupoint and will not be the last.

Popper, thanx for the link.

It is a good scope. I would be keeping it if the rifle hadn't sold. nothing wrong with the design or with my particular scope. Glass is Nightforce level, maybe a little better in color, resolution is on par.

Re: Trjicon Variable Power Scope?

I haven't compared them side-by-side in low light.

I'll try to take a look and let you know. The 5-20 does have a side parallax where the 2.5-10 does not, that might make some small bit of difference. "Might."

Re: Trjicon Variable Power Scope?

Thumbs up on the Trijicon TR232. People are starting to notice these scopes for very good reasons. They are a little light on the MOA adjustments but a 20 Moa base takes care of that. bshooter.

Re: Trijicon Variable Power Scope?

I counted 52 MOA on mine yesterday. You may have 10 to 15MOA left at the bottom side depending on your mount and rifle using a 20MOA base. Just guessing you might have 45 or so MOA to adjust. You will be pushing 45MOA @1150yrs with a 250gr on that mighty 338LM. I have never shot that far. I would like to try some day, but I will use my 300RUM topped with NSX. I wanted the TR232 for deer hunting on my 257 WBY. I highly recommend the TR232 but you might want something else if you want to shoot the 338LM father then 1100 yards. Dont take my word on your decision, call Trijicon and see what they recommend.. bshooter..

Re: Trijicon Variable Power Scope?

Thanks guys for all the help...

I LOVE the look of that scope and the reticle. I may swing one eventually to put on one of my .308's

Guess its back to looking at other scopes to get me past the 1400 yard mark...

Matt.

Re: Trijicon Variable Power Scope?

I called Trijicon a few weeks ago about the adjustments. They told me that the nominal is 48 moa minimum, but it will probably be a few more.
