Im looking at putting the Truglo TFO (tg131mpty) sights on one of my M&P's. Its the set with yellow rear pins and green front. I read what reviews I could find and most where positive but nothing about how they hold up.

Can anyone tell me about the reliability and how they have held up?
Warranty? There is no warranty info on their website, it says to look at package.
And does anyone use them behind a flash light?

The gun I'm putting the sights on is mainly kept in the bed room. I might put 500 rounds thru it a year.
Im looking for experience on the Truglo TFO only. I have a experience with trijicon and meprolight sights. Thanks.

Re: Truglo FTO night sights?

Go for it.
I have 10,000 rounds (?) through a G17 with TruGlo fiber optic tritium sights. Probably been on there four years and still bright and rugged.
I've since added them to all of my Glocks in 9mm and .45ACP.
The G21 probably has in excess of 5,000 rounds and the Tru Glo's are also in great shape.
Unlike Meprolight, Tru Glo's give excellent day time brilliance for quick sight acquisition.

And no, I am not afilliated with Tru Glo.

Re: Truglo FTO night sights?

I have nowhere near that many rounds through my G23 yet but I love the TruGlo TFO for quick close up work, the visibility is great in any light. I have yet to use them behind a flashlight. I bought a second set for the G27 I intend to buy shortly. I run green/green, installed them myself and have had no issues yet after about 1000 rounds.

For what its worth my accuracy at 25 yards with them is complete shit. With that said I don't have a baseline for comparison when it comes to my 25 yard accuracy with standard sights so for all I know I am complete garbage at 25 with any sights.

I find the front post a little thick for long distance shots, but then again I use them on my CCW and most of the drills we run are at 7 yards or less with the occasional longer shot to initiate the drill. I would not hesitate to recommend them, and my friends that have had a chance to shoot them intend to change over themselves.

Re: Truglo FTO night sights?

My gripe with the TFO is that, at least on the XD, the blades do not line up flat across the top when you are on target. You have to line up the dots, and having them appear to be large in the back than the front (they are the same size, but appear this way) makes my sight picture a little subjective. That might be why Shooter McGavin is having trouble at 25 yards...

Re: Truglo FTO night sights?

Thanks for the information. Thought more people would have experience using the TFO sights. Maybe I'll pick a set up and run them through the mill before the warranty expires to make sure they hold up.
Anyone have a fiber optic break or come loose on them?

Re: Truglo FTO night sights?

I'm shooting these on my XDM 3.8. Love them. I decided to try competition shooting to see how much of a fool i could make of myself and these sights actually allowed me a greater advantage over other shooters. You can see extremely clear sight in the bright light thanks to the fiber optic and when I carry this gun concealed i'm never concerned about low light conditons thanks to the tritium. Wont buy anything else. These sights have held up for well over 2500 rnds so far. Advice: have a gunsmith install them properly. you wont be disappointed.

Re: Truglo FTO night sights?

I've had 3 sets on glocks with no problems. Thousands of rounds fired, and a lot of miles in holsters.
I've got friends that run them.
I like them a lot.

Re: Truglo FTO night sights?

Mine provide an excellent sight picture and have been very durable on myn XD45. they are very bright. The best thing I like is in low light, they still burn bright.

Re: Truglo FTO night sights?

I had them on my XDM for about a yr. 15 yards and in they are great. Shooting at 20-25 during the daylight they are so bright that it's makes a halo effect on the front post, so I could never get a great group from long distance. During low light or night shooting they are great. I didn't like the trade off since I work mostly during the day, so I put they original night sights back on.

+1 Have one on my Springfield XMD and I am very pleased.

Re: Truglo FTO night sights?

Freaking love mine. They literally glow in all lighting conditions. I have them on my Glock 19 and they have made it through thousands of rounds and EDC. Very robust sights and amazing sight picture 24/7.

A picture says a thousand words so here's 2k worth:

Re: Truglo FTO night sights?

I have them on two well used pistols of mine, their the shit. Extremely bright in daylight or dark.

When they first came out I heard "internet" rumors about the fiber optic piece falling out on occasion. I've never seen it and haven't heard it mentioned in a couple years...

Re: Truglo FTO night sights?

Thanks for the great pictures, they look like LEDs in the sun. I just ordered a set yesterday morning. Hope to have them in for the weekend.

Re: Truglo FTO night sights?

They are my favorites... I wish companies would use these instead of trijicons

I also wish they had a red/green combo. I would love my front to be red and rear green (or vice versa) which help help align the 3 dots faster imo

Re: Truglo FTO night sights?

A lot of people just buy multiple sets of different colors and run a different color in front and back. I hear yellow in front is nice. I might try it eventually.

Botach.com sells em for 79.95$ a set, free shipping. I got mine(x2) at 69.95, they recently raised the price.
