Candiru. They swim up when you pee standing in the river. Then they extend little spines so they can’t come out.River flukes?

Long range weed eater.
Gotta keep those weeds down on the edge of the yard.

I've always preferred Beehive's from 12 gauge being first choice, but from a 105mm tube will work just as well, if you looking to nail down a larger area.Maybe some "daisy cutter" and some "willy Pete" to add to the list. MHO
Good catch, I'll give 7 hail marys and one rifle prayer. Is that the Australian version or is the pix backwards?
You registered all of 3 days ago and still can't spell "corrupt" ?
WTF, I thought we taught everyone that on their first day ???
Damn.

75 yrs old, ask his Ranger class number and the easy answer, where did he go to ranger school or jump school. Sounds like bullshit to me
Offer to take him off shore fishing if he lies and won't go away.
R.I.P. to the fallen, but ya'll some suckers if you think the published story is even close to the truth. I'm sure the operators were doing a completely different mission, and in an area we're not supposed to be.
Yup Saved our asses a few times for sure.Or a couple of A-10's..................
Immigration in the US is so broken. I'm not one to drink the "build the wall" Koolaid as its more or less a red herring to rally pissed off people rather than a meaningful solution. I do agree that a barrier in some, or many, border areas can and should be part of the solution. But if one thinks a full wall is the cure they're not paying attention.
Throughout my career I've worked in and had apartments in, many countries. With that I've had to deal with all kinds of immigration issues - visas, work permits, residency, etc. Something most Americans have never dealt with and have no clue about (if they even bothered to go and see the world).
In most places in the world you are extremely limited in what you are able to do without legal status in a country. You can't stay in a hotel, rent an apartment, buy a home, go to school, etc. Health care is for immediate emergency treatment - that's about it. If you are encountered by anyone in an official capacity you are immediately detained and deported. You don't go back to where you are staying to get your things, you're not freed for a future hearing - you are arrested and removed. If that happens its going to be an uphill battle to get back in legally.
I came close to taking a position running my company's group of European companies for a few years. In that case family would have been relocated as well. It would take some time to get everything in order - I couldn't just pack up and go (even though I had a temporary work visa my family did not). Even being there legally in every respect, working and employing many people, and in full compliance with their laws, my daughter could not attend the public school. Even if she took language lesson and got up to speed it was a "NO". We would have to pay for her to go to a private school (Company would have covered it in my case). It really was a lateral move for me and we identified another member of the exec team to take the gig so we never made the move.
Its a big difference when you are essentially denied access to basic services and in hiding so, at the time I was there, they really didn't have much in the way of immigration issues. (Things are changing with refugees in recent years though those refugees are identified and documented temporarily until permanent residency eligibility is determined.)
As stated above - I care little about the "Wall". I'd much rather see our time and energy put into making and enforcing rules that simply force immigrants into compliance. I'm a 1st gen American so appreciate having immigration but we need to set and adhere to standard for admission.
Interestingly, many of those on the left that are opposed to immigration reform or even enforcement of existing laws are the same that want more benefits for all in this country - healthcare and basic pension programs for all. Many other countries have those programs and they provide some peace for their citizens. You don't have a lot of people approaching retirement that are stressed out over healthcare and basic income during retirement so there something to be said for it (though that's another discussion entirely). The point is - those programs work better in those countries in part due to a stable population base of citizens (only citizens are eligible).

Excellent catch! Not only the guns, but the red nav light as well for proof. Is that the Australian version or is the pix backwards?
If they stocked the river with gators and hippos it would be more humane. Many drown every day trying to cross. How many would even get in the water if they were going to get eaten.
Watching gators or a hippo shred someone would keep the water clear for days until the next eager person attempted the crossing.

Yes, and get coins for hits on the first shot, like some of these informal long distance events are like.A wonderful idea would be for the government to sell range tickets for the southern border to bring down our national debt. 100yd,500yd and 1000yd pricing . Daily and seasonal passes available.
Make it like the shooting gallery at Bass Pro Shops, lots of bells and lights for each shot.Yes, and get coins for hits on the first shot, like some of these informal long distance events are like.
Fair enough. The point is - a wall will not solve the problem...I read it, but you lost me when you disparaged the wall.
But yes, we need to lock down in all illegal immigrants in this country. Operating with impunity is awful for everyone
But it's a start, and it will slow the flow down substantially.Fair enough. The point is - a wall will not solve the problem...
yup. they attacked us om 9/11 from our own soil, not from some shithole outpost in syria or jordan.I hear all this 4D and 5D chess crap. Why is it we spent 20+ years in the sandbox to stop perceived threats of terrorism and we won't spent a fraction of that on the border? Really, seriously. This is not a threat on a foreign shore. This is on our border.
And, at some point, people just erupt. Such as the French Revolution, in which bad actors, as bad as any of the aristocracy they deposed, gained power. But the people wanted blood.Something else I have been thinking about: all the emotion around every issue these last years. The emotional reaction is the goal because emotions do not allow room for detached, critical thinking about a situation.
9/11 got us the Patriot Act.
Covid got us lockdowns and mass hysteria.
BLM got us division and burned cities.
Mass shootings result in more gun control.
The list goes on.
Emotional reactions cloud judgment which in turn allow for mistakes that result in predictable outcomes of less freedom and more opportunities for 1984. Emotions are THE trap as emotional reactions are usually not wise, thought through or long lived (which reduces their overall risk to acceptable levels). If I have a desired outcome that you will oppose but I can deflect you with an event that draws you in emotionally I can either distract you with whatever it is you are obsessing over and attain my goal while you are not looking or get you to get on board with what I want because you will react in the moment and not think through the chain of results. Or I can manipulate you to break laws, arrest you and possibly move a large percentage of the population against you as I form the surrounding narrative. I wonder if this latest convoy and others that are heading down there are about to find themselves in this situation.
There are no answers in this post, just some internal thoughts of mine about the human monkey brain.
