Trying to decide

I am looking for a home defense/ hotel room defense rifle or pcc set up i can't decide what to get i have 2k to spend on it i will have for an optic later
I am thinking a 16" primary weapon systems 223 with a vortex pst 1-6 or 1-8 then I can use it for everything but open to suggestions

If you are looking for something smaller like a subgun caliber, then I would suggest a CZ Scorpion on the more affordable side and a Sig MPX and PTR/MP5 on the higher end. All three will get the job done and have a bunch of aftermarket support. Plus it can be more discretely packed into a bag for hotel rooms.

If you are wanting a 16" 556, then the PWS is a great choice. Great shooting gun and mine has been 100% reliable.

A 16" AR will end up being around 32" overall, that's a pretty big bag to carry into a hotel rm. A 10" AR pistol ends up around 17" and will fit in a med sized back pack if you separate upper and lower.

Scorpion or for more money MPX

I have a scorpion with thousands of rounds suppressed and it runs like a champ. A few HBI upgrades and your good to go.

I have a 14.5” barreled 5.56 that is my home defense / travel gun. Broken down, the end of the barrel still sticks out the top of a 22 liter day pack, so I usually put it in my Osprey backpack. Other than needing a bigger bag to pack it in, I feel better having something in 5.56 over a pistol caliber.
