I think my last meaningful visit was many months ago when I simultaneously had the time and money to shoot some matches and was hunting a piece of gear. I popped on long enough to find a recommendation for and subsequently purchase a badass rear bag.

Almost immediately thereafter life apparently decided I needed some fresh challenges.

2020 started whipping my ass at 1500 on New Years Day; gave me glimmer of hope 3 weeks ago, and then remembered to shit on my head this past week.

I am still in "LA", but did a bit of a bug out yesterday to SC. I hope to never get immune to how beautiful this country can be. Driving the back roads across Georgia with the peach orchards in bloom was amazing. Dogwoods and Azaleas, fishing the Cypress today. Epic.

The drive in itself did me a world of good.

I'll have a line or two in the water tomorrow while I wait for enough usable light to decide if I'm taking the boat out or enjoying my coffee fishing from the dock.

I'd have to catch something first, but I'm enjoying figuring out all the ways to not catch fish on this lake.
Eventually I'll get serious about it, but for now fishing is giving me a great excuse to explore a bit and to sit and ponder.

Ironically, I'm on an extended outdoor "vacation" because of this damn virus. I'd finally gotten back to work, working a series of shutdowns at the local Chevron refinery, when they decided to send the majority of the contractors home.

There ain't no work, there ain't nowhere near enough money to make upcoming bills, the bars are closed, the groceries are empty, no reason not to take a little trip and fish until something changes.
