Where did the term "turrents" come from? Every time I read it I cringe. I haven't corrected anyone yet but it bugs the shit out of me. Can anyone explain where that word came from? Next time I see it I'm going to let loose.

Re: Turrents?

My problem is they're spelling it that way intentionally, the word doesn't have the N sound in it. Do they pronounce the N too? If anyone says turrents to me in person I will smash their face.

The 'elite' shooters use them when they 'site in there $100 glass on there stick and if steal target isn't to far they have enough turrent adjustment too get their'.

Personally I cannot believe how 'illiterate' people are on the net. I tain't no college boy but try my damndest to at least speel

correctly. Even have a Webster's by the pc and look things up so I don't come off as a dipshit third world English speaking moron. Guess most don't care what impressions they make, after all it is "just the internet"!!!

Not anywhere as bad as brake and break, or advise and advice. I really haven't noticed turrents... Any browser worth a damn would be able to tell you it the word is spelled wrong.

Re: Turrents?

I guess I don't let that stuff bother me, same goes for people interchanging clips and magazines. I know what they mean, they know what they mean so what makes the difference. Lots of words get misspelled, misused or maybe the person just didn't know any better.

As long as people are shooting and having fun it don't matter to me if they use the correct terminology for an item in our conversation as long as they are pro gun and being safe. At least they are out there trying and not trying to take away the thing we all enjoy.

It's just as easy to use the correct terminology in your post of conversation with someone that has misused it. They may see the correct wording and no one will be embarrassed and the person that wanted to blurt out how stupid the other was for not knowing won't get to feel the satisfaction of being a know it all.

There are lots of things in the world that bug us but life is too short to get our panties in a bunch over little things like a misused word even though you'd like to reach out and Bitc% slap the person that just asked you how to use his turrents on his new gun with a 5 round clip and a new brake.

Ya gots to member that sumday ya might be'n a convursaton with sumwon that hapens to b un xprt on a topuc and use a wrung tirm too.
