Looking to get a new tv and I'm growing tired of researching. Currently own an LG "A" variant OLED at 77" but that's staying at our house in Colorado.

I'm wanting to step up in size. 83" plus.

Clearly OLED gives the best picture quality but what I don't like is the reflection from the overhead LED lighting in the ceiling and the pendent lights over the island in the kitchen. The new house has an extremely similar set up so I expect to get a similar glare. I can live with it but was hoping to get some feedback from members who might have already gone through this process recently.

Trying to go as cheap as possible. Really don't want to go over $2500 and would be thrilled to keep it under $2000. And if you have found a really nice budget tv under $1000, I'd consider it. It would be great to hear from those who have been able to compare their budget tv to another high end tv and would say something like "I love my LG G series OLED but the LG mini LED is 85-90% the tv for 25% of the price".

I need to eventually get three to five tvs and budget is a concern, so a $800 good enough would likely win out over the $1600 OLED if it's "good enough". But this discussion is mostly for the main tv and the secondary bedroom tvs are not of huge concern at this point.

OLED and LG fan myself. 2024’s to try and stay near your budget. These are more than your budget at 83”. Still worth looking IMO.

    LG G4 OLED or G5 (2025)

Samsung S95 QD OLED S95F (2025) best anti glare/super bright room

    Sony A95L OLED

Panasonic Z95-A OLED or Z95-B (2025) B will be brighter

If these are too much $. Look at:
    LG C4
    Samsung S90D

If you want to spend less’ish you could do QLED.
    Sony Bravia 9
Hisense U9N nearly as good as Bravia9
    Samsung QN90D
    Panasonic W95A

Recommend 12ga #7 1/2 with a skeet choke for the TV.
While I DO agree with this, I will also add that for your own entertainment there is a LOT to be said for a ceiling mount projector and a motorized wall screen. 120-140" is quite easy, and very easy on the eyes.

We did it over a decade ago, for well under a grand. Shopping around, and knowing what to look for are a bit of a key, but the effects are astounding. Kinda re-defines "movie night" at our house.

Just have to look at them.

The crap ones annoy me with lack of colors, so you get banding across gradients.

Ideally, you put it in a dark room if you actually want to enjoy it. If it's sunny, good luck.
