Just wanted to say thanks Tom for another great day at Thunder Valley. I don't have the group shot or the winners photo but I do have a few.

Had a great time today sharing a beautiful but windy day ringing steel with others. Fun challenging match with some easy to see and some "where are they again?" targets.
It was a super way to spend a saturday shooting and chatting with others and seeing a wide assortment of everyones idea of what to use at this match.
Thanks again for letting us shoot with you all today.

Man what a nice weekend for shooting. Thanks, Tom for letting us all hang out and play. Congrats to Stovetop for the win on Saturday and did a fine job on Sunday as well. I think he's hooked!! It's good to see new faces at these matches .... that's what we all need to keep the shooting games alive.

mscott, thanks for building the blast buffer. I figured I would get to it about mid season haha. From what I saw shooters stepped up and helped make the match run smooth by participating in scoring and spotting. This is good for everyone. Another fun day at TVP,these matches are really starting to move along efficiently,we got done pretty early considering the group size we had.That just gave us more time to play at the end.Thanks Tom

Thanks to everyone for making my little guy feel welcome, he hasn't stopped talking about it. He had a blast and a few too many smores camping sat night we had to head home Sunday & missed the long range shoot.

Sure is a lot of long barrels in that picture. Looks like it was another nice day for a shoot, we'll have to try and make it to that one sometime this summer. I'll have to try flopping down in the dirt and see if I can shoot prone without that stand next time.

Also burned up all my ammo and need to do my own reloading for next weekend.

Did over 400 last night that way.
Shooting 1000 yrd paper is a good way to learn more.

We're gonna start earlier and shoot staions 1-4.
Take a break and shoot the course backwards 4-1 all in a day.
Then shoot course again Sunday.
Check the other thread Tom started.
Bring plenty of ammo.

Yeah, Me and Dale both shot 260's. I had the center grip with the weird high above the bore mount and the brake and Dale had the rear grip.

I can only tell you where I was on both lists and who was immediatly around my score. I don't have the full score sheet memorized.

Probably safe bet that nobody has all dope from every shot too.

Let us know now if there is a score sheet issue so we can work it out early. I would post the results but alot of the time I can't make out the chicken scratch. Scores sheets take a beating all day long too. Now that we are handing it off to the shooters who just shot to spot and keep score there's more chicken scratch to decode. Maybe we need to fix this now because I see it being an issue later. To me it's simple, you know your score when you leave and winners are posted. Since I will be the one normally always here maybe I should handle it?
If someone has a better way we will discuss here during the match this weekend.
Range is mowed and manicured. Karl and Jim helped me today from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. thanks guys I needed the help.

I think a lot of shooters that shoot other places have gotten used to seeing scores posted. Pretty much every other range and event I attend posts scores online within a few days. Even if they aren't there guys like to know who was and how well the others shot. You might know your score when you leave the match, but some of us like to look at how we stack up against everyone else. If there are any secret agents shooting they could just sign up as Mr. Smith or something.
Thanks for mowing ..... maybe that will help with the ticks a little bit. Painted targets and mowed grass will keep most shooters content. Looking foreward to Saturday morning. I'm hoping to get a couple of blast shields put together that can be left at each position.

Helping out was no problem. The course almost reminded me of a golf course. Only lacking the asphalt cart path and the ball washers at each hole. I'm going to get one of those string trimmers. I may of had a bit too much fun with that. I will need to clean white paint off my boots. They need polished anyway. Total tick count for the day - 4.
I learned alot about the wind patterns yesterday.Hopefully I can put it all together and come up with something viable to help with my shooting game.
Reading some of the recent posts here and seeing the bowling pin by position #1. It makes me think. I think there should be another course. The course should have unpainted targets of unknown distance,shooting from assigned positions.Different size targets with different shapes.The maintainence would be simple. The old steel targets would work for this. Clay birds and bowling pins would work also. There would be no need for me to worry about driving or riding,because walking would be the mode of transportation of the day. I know I need the exercise. Let the winners ride back. They earned it.
That was my idea. The "Intimidator" course if tough,believe me,and my scores are proof of that. But it is getting away from the original idea.

The Saturday match was fun with old and new shooters. The wind owned me. I wish it was the other way around.

The Sunday match has been my worst score to date. The time I had was great. I met a new shooter and helped him out,he scored better than me.I think he got a 77. Good going Tracy.

102 is my personal best on the Intimidator. I REALLY wish I could make it Saturday, but I planned this weekend shortly after Tom posted the Intimidator schedule. I wanted to make sure I didn't miss a single match and...... life happens.
Hope all you shooters have a good time this weekend. Getting a practice round on the way out should help a couple of the guys shoot some 160's on the way back to position 1.
