Got a text 5:30 this morning that my two sons and my grandson had finally located a herd of Elk yesterday and was going to put the smackdown on them today.

Got a text the night that read: 2 nice 6x6's down.
My grandson (13) killed his at 408 yds. With a 260 light weight Hunter that I gave him last year.

I loaded 140 VLD hunting bullets running 2700 fps
The scope I put on it is a Leupold bdc 3-9.

I'm pretty happy.

Real proud of the grandson to say the least. Both bulls taken at 408 yards.
My son using a 300 WM and my grandson putting the 260 to work.
4 Bulls and about 20 cows in the heard. The two they shot were standing together facing each other. The 206 hit right behind the shoulder. Hit ribs on both sides and bullet was just under the hide on the opposite side. The WM same thing but the bullet exited.
My other son only spotted for them. He could have taken one of the other bulls but wanted to make sure his son got his.
They gave me half of a elk so I'm happy to!
