I just set up an account with them last week and was planning on ordering some glasses next week. I've always had $10 sunglasses from Academy. I'd lose them before I broke them, but I've managed to keep up with the same pair since Aug. So I figured it was time to get some good glasses. It looks like they have better prices than regular retail.

Have you used them? Do they ship quick? If something is out of stock, does it become available in a timely fashion.

Re: U.S. Standard Issue?

I've ordered from the about three times over the years. Prices are great, shipping time is reasonable. The only time something was backordered I cancelled it a week after they told me it would be in. They are great, but don't think anyone you will talk to really knows when something will be back in stock.

Re: U.S. Standard Issue?

That's all good news.

Yeah, you're exactly right that dealers typically don't know when something is back in stock. The glasses I liked are in stock anyway, but another fireman bud was wanting some that weren't in stock. I'll just tell him to pick something that's in stock.

Re: U.S. Standard Issue?

I've ordered probably 4 pair of sunglasses and two pair of boots thru them so far, every was received very fast except one pair of sunglasses, they are currently on back order, two weeks so far I think, no biggie though. They're good people.

Re: U.S. Standard Issue?

I've been a frequent customer for over 10 years, buying several sunglasses, a few pairs of gloves and a pair of boots. The price is unbeatable, and the service is great. Buy from them with confidence.

Re: U.S. Standard Issue?

I buy from them on a fairly regular basis for guys on the Dept. and have never had a single issue. The amount of time something takes to come off backorder has varied from a week to over a month. Prices are great and shipping is both fast and reasonable.

Re: U.S. Standard Issue?

I've bought I-don't-know-how-many pairs of glasses from them as well as other items.

They are very easy to deal with and they command my respect for what they do for the MIL/LEO community.

Re: U.S. Standard Issue?

That's all good news fellas.

We had a mix-up when I was setting up an account with them and I had to call them. I waited on hold for 20 minutes, waaaay longer that I usually give a company. But when I finally got to speak with a human they were very friendly, helpful, and spoke clear english.

Re: U.S. Standard Issue?

They are, I had already ordered replacement glasses through US Standard Issue for the ones I lost when I got hit on my motorcycle by a woman drinking and driving but I emailed Oakley telling them how the M-Frames had saved my eyes and the boots saved my feet (still got a fracture but could have been a lot worse) and they told me to call and they would provide me with a 25% discount off retail for replacements. Seeing how USSI was better and already ordered, never took them up on the offer.

Got replacement laces for the boots from my unit's supply though as the ambulance people cut them off, or the people in the hospital, don't know, don't remember any of it.

While I'm happy with Oakley, lets just say that the hospital I was taken to is minutes from my house, next time if I can I'll drive myself the hour to the VA, even if I have to throw on a tourniquet. I probably shouldn't go into it yet, need to talk with my lawyer about it all, but suffice to say injured parts of my body were not x-rayed coupled with a number of other things that when I was told about it later (no memory of the hospital at all) I was rather upset.

Re: U.S. Standard Issue?

That's a shit job by the emergency department staff. Plain and simple! I've got a hospital 20 minutes from home, but I've told all the EMS staff "when in doubt, fly me out" I do not want you taking me to those morons.

But I digress.
