I had a GSG-5, and from all the things I've read of the umarex, I think the GSG is the way to go. Right now, there seems to be a lot more technical support (and owners) for the GSG than there is for the umarex clones. You can probably find one of the old -SD models used and get a good deal on it too.

From what i've gathered "on the net"
GSG made the GSG5, for a long ass time. It was fairly popular.
H&K got their dick bent out of shape because a company was producing a firearm, mimicking their patented MP5 series.
They made GSG cease and desist production of it.
Then, H&K, in their infinite fucking wisdon, started to produce the same product, albeit from a absolutely god-awful production company (Umarex)
Good job shitheads, you kill a good product, and replaced it with a terrible one.

There are plenty of GSG5's around for the buying. Personally, I have no use whatsoever for one and would probably just get an AR-conversion kit, or I'd build another 10/22 if I wanted/needed another .22LR semi-auto.

i have a p22 cause i cannot afford 45 acp out of my usp all day long.
i though a 22lr mp5 would be a good trainer for my ump...
