The inner workings of APA! I always wanted to take a tour of the place when I lived in NC but never got a chance to get down your way. Well, it looks like that trip will have to wait until your office is fumigated.

Re: Unhealthy work environment

Ha! I had a buddy that you used to (reportedly still does) get so disgustingly flatulent of flights, that the op next to him had to go on OX for most of the missions!

Regarding that wall hanger, if you mean the rifle in the glass case, I tried getting a better picture of it but the light and glass wasn't cooperating.

It was presented to Jered a couple years ago by the Army Sniper Association for, as the plaque says, "In appreciation for your generous support to snipers".

Now, regarding some of the groups, here are just a couple...

Re: Unhealthy work environment

Mark, got a question for you? Are those groups shot off a bi-pod and rear bag or strapped down on a rifle rest? I also wonder when I get a rifle from a custom manufacture how they do the groups.

Re: Unhealthy work environment

Excellent question!

All groups are shot from a bench using only a Harris bipod on the front and a rear bag. That's it.

All groups are shot on our private 700-yard range, which is outdoors. The bench area is covered.

All groups (with some exceptions) are shot with factory ammunition. No special loads are whipped up just to look good on paper. The bulk of what we use is Corbon.

When testing we are looking for consistency. We don't just shoot a bunch of crappy groups until we get that one lucky, magical tiny group and then go with that on the range certification card. The custom won't be fooled when he can't replicate the performance you are telling him the gun is capable of achieving.

Absolutely. The ones Jered has stuck to one of the office safes are certainly "the best of the best".

Here is something else that is interesting on the safe. Pete Jr from Corbon shot amazing group from Jered's 1911. He did it while bracing his arms on the bench but did NOT use a rest. Sights are just factory irons. Distance was actually 40-yards. The "50" on the paper was written before they measured the distance and found it was actually at 40-yards.

Holy Hanna! That handgun group is beyond belief! I miss being able to buy silencers from you Mark, but I will be in the market for a custom bolt gun someday and you guys will be the first phone call I make!

Mark, thanks for the response and that helps clarify what I was wondering. Man, I could only wish I could shoot that well.
