Put a free float hand rail on my AR and used to much loctite on the barrel nut. Not the lock ring for the rail wont break loose. Is there something out there to soften up the loctite to get the ring off?
Ok. Thanks. Was hoping to do it before labor day weekend but thats ok. Have to get the heat gun from the old man. Thanks again. If some one has another way I'd be open to trying it.

If red, you will need 500*F (per Loctite data sheet) to soften sufficiently to break loose. Good luck with a heat gun. This will require a torch. Though here in Texas, placing outside in sun, works great
If blue, a heat gun might be enough, though Loctite states "normal tools" to remove.
hair dryer first: if properly concentrated, it don'will harm anything_
if it would not be enough, be cautious w. the heat gun_keep at hand the right tools to immediately work on the heated stubborn part, w.gloved hands_
even workin'on heavily "loctitized"parts on my chopper, I've never needed more than this...
