I was able to buy some in local store and while reloading manual does not specify "magnum" load - any concerns in using cci 41 (similar to 450 as I understand) for precision loads? If using reload manual data - should I use same powder charge or back off by how much (from safety perspective)?

Curious about others’ results with 41s also, since I can get some and nothing else.

No safety concerns as long as you have a full-strength firing pin spring, adequate pin protrusion, and work up a load from minimum charge just like you would anyway. My go-to primer for 6.5CM has been 450s, no issues.

When I asked CCI 'How are #41 primers different from #400 primers?', CCI wrote:
"Jeffrey,

The CCI 41s have a Magnum priming mix and an anvil angle change that will reduce the possibility of slam fires in AR style rifles.

I've used #41s in ALL my several 6mm cartridges, and they worked perfectly.

400’s, or 450’s? 450s should have a very similar or identical recipe to the 41’s, so it’s just the anvil change.

Interesting to hear they don’t have a harder cup tho, that’s also common with the “AR” style primers I think.
