USMC 1941 Sniper Clone C Stock / Bolt Handle Question

I'm building a 1941 Sniper clone and I'm confused about the C STOCK. Im using the Hi Lux 8x scope. Will I need to have the bolt handle modified and will I need to have the stock modified with a cutout for bolt handle clearance like on a 1903A4 C Stock?

Not if you want it to look like the original USMC rifles…..

I just had one built and as Skunk said the originals weren't. I find that when mine is zeroed for close range the scope does contact the bolt (Or would one say, the bolt contacts the scope? ) Anyway, I just push the scope the rest of the way forward before cycling the bolt. Ok what it is. The USMC repo Malcomb scope or whatever you call it, the first type of mount on that scope, they copied the wrong mount when they repo'd it. They didn't copy a Unertl mount which is taller. They copied a lyman mount which is shorter.

So if you use the original height 0&E blocks on the rifle with that first style repo scope, with the lyman copied mounts, the bolt will hit the scope.

Now if you buy the taller O&E blocks for your rifle, with the first style repo lyman copied mounts, you will be fine.

Or the repo Malcomb scopes now come with a 2nd style, correct Unertl copied mount which if you get the new redesigned mount, you can use the original height blocks on your rifle and be ok.

The original Marine Unertl snipers have no issues at all hitting the scope with the bolt. This used to be an urban legend that floated around a long time before I did my research. But it was because a lot of fake rifles were thought to be real and it clouded up the research on them.

The top rifle is an Original USMC Unertl sniper.
