The price and feature set on this scope look great. The field of view is a bit narrow, but for my current use (spotter watching targets) it seems like the perfect spotter.

I've done some research on it and the reviews seem to be rather polarized. Some say its great, some say it sucks, some praise the glass and some complain. Some of that is normal but it seems more pronounced with this scope.

So what do you guys that have used them think?

I hated the one I got, It was no where near as nice of glass and easy to look through as the uso scopes that I have. I just was not impressed at all with it.

What Chiller said. I used one for a class we taught to spot for students and after two days I had a headache. Eye relief was very tough to use and if you weren't directly in the right spot you get shadowing. Best description is that it's like spotting through a scope instead of a spotting scope. Get a designated spotting scope like a Vortex as Chiller mentioned. Your eyes will thank you. I have a Vortex Razor and it's an excellent spotter.

I might get bashed for this............but I f**king hate the FOS!

For the money, Razor HD is hard to beat! I also have a Pentax which is super clear, light weight(but no reticle)

The glass in them is great. The problem is when turned up on higher power, as they run from 15x-40x is that the focus ring on the front is so hard to get perfectly focused. While I like mine, overall, I've found it harder to use than many other spotting scopes that I've tried. That's pretty much why you see the polarity in reviewing them.

Personally, I wish they would go back to a prism type arrangement and include a fine focus, as opposed to continuing on with the roof type, front focus/fine focus rear ocular. It's not a real workable system. When you do get it dialed in just right it is some pretty amazing glass. And the FFP reticle is right on. The thing is it takes time that most of us don't have.

I have one along with a Swaro and Spotter 60. As mentioned above it has eye relief like a scope and the focus ring mounted on the objective end makes it difficult to use compared to other scopes. Not the best option for use at the range and would not recommend it for that purpose. We use it in the field while hunting set up on a tripod with a grip ball head and it actually works well once you get used to it.

The newer versions with the bigger eye piece are a little better, but still not great. I always thought they would be best if used on a Dummy Rifle Stock on your tripod. That way you can stabilize your head behind it and be more comfortable and less fatigued.
