I recently bought a USO SN3 3.2-17 from a member here. This one has a 30mm tube, 44mm AO with an EREK. The reticle is MOA with 1/4" value clicks. The scope didn't come with any instructions and I'm not completely sure exactly how the EREK knobs works. Today I counted (using and allen key with the EREK cap removed) that it has a total of 200 clicks. My math tells me that 200 clicks at 1/4" value each equals a total of 50 MOA. I thought that this scope, with a 30mm tube should have between 75 and 80 MOA total elevation adjustment. Am I mistaken?

I imagine it has more than 50 MOA, or should. Here's a pretty good video Mike @ CS tactical did.

Re: USO question

Adjusting the erector tube with the allen wrench does not go by clicks and is also threaded to a different pitch. To setup the EREK correctly you're going to need the EREK adjusting cap (hole in center) and look at the videos posted on the USO site.

Re: USO question

It sounds as if you purchased this second hand. There is nothing wrong with that. This was on someones elses rifle and the EREK was adjusted and zero'd. This means from where it is currently sitting at zero you have 50 moa that is useable.

Put it on your rifle and zero it. Then you can check and see if you need a different base to let you have more moa that is useable in your new pruchase.

The owners manual, EREK adjustment and all may be found on the uso website. Congrats and enjoy the new optics.

Re: USO question

The link I posted is the owner of US Optics recommended video on how to set up their EREK scope.
USO is also awesom at backing used scopes, so if you screw it up give them a holler.

50 moa of usable elevation ain't bad, you planning on shooting 1400yds+ often?

Re: USO question

I'll be shooting as far and as often as I can. Don't mistake this question as a complaint Mr sobrbiker. I'm pretty sure the video has answered my question.

Re: USO question

Thanks Doc. Will do. It'll be a while tho because the rifle it is going on isn't even finished yet. I'm getting antsy waiting on it! I need patience..........
