A free state would actually have laws that really were "common sense." You know, like, if you steal, or kill, or do anything else against "common sense" societal rules, you get punished.
Massachusetts doesn't allow unfettered ownership of firearms. They have a set of laws that, while we find them unacceptable, are what have been thrown across the shoulders of the people like a yoke. When their standard is the national standard, we will all be at the mercy of such enforcement. Until then, vote with your feet, and cast off your chains. And when we're finally there, prepare to stand your ground.
